Default What is the difference between LCD and LED monitors?

What is the difference between LCD and LED monitors? Can anyone tell me which one is better in which way? And what is the price difference? My budget is 12,000/= and my target is 21'5/22 inch.

First of all ei budget e valo kono LED hobe bole mone hoy na.
Next, LED monitor is still an LCD Monitor. It use LED for the backlighting instead of fluorescent tubes. LED provides better contrast ratio (brighter Image), more compact figure, less power consumption (very low infact), faster response, overall better performance.

Correct in the definition, but about the performance, not always is that true. Also, thats only for RGB LED, not white LED. In fact, other than power consumption and size, CCFL backlighting can be superior to white LED LCD's in many cases

LCD televisions use a light source behind the layer of liquid crystal. Until recently, the lighting has been a form of fluorescent light but some models are using LEDs as an alternative. The basic display technology has not changed, just the type of light source. The proper description of these televisions is LED-LCD.
There is also a new breed of display that uses a group of red, green and blue LEDs for every pixel that makes up the image. This does away with the liquid crystal and the back lighting. Although it is a very new technology in domestic equipment, it has been used extensively for many years in the giant displays seen at concerts and big open air events.

The true LED displays will be developed in the coming years and no doubt will become more popular in time.
