Lightbulb Re: JUNE 2010 Price List

Thank u Anik for the price list.

One question - Intel Pentium Dual Core E5400 & Intel Pentium Dual Core E6300 mainly has bus speed difference. So from price performance point of view which one would be better? Will that bus speed be a huge difference.

    Difference between E5400 & E6300 -

    1. E5400 is 2.7GHz, E6300 is 2.8GHz.
    2. E5400 has 800MHz FSB, E6300 has 1066MHz. (It plays max 2~3% difference, and u'r saying it's the main difference ? )
    3. E5400 has 2MB Cache, E6300 has 3MB.
    4. E5400 is OC Beast, E6300 is OC MONSTER.

Actually, last two points are the main differences. But, I'll say, saving that 1.5k is better. Because, after all, both are puny dual-cores, and spending more in dual-cores in totally pointless, even if it's Core i3 or i5(dual-core). And, E5400 isn't a bad OCer, that'll more than enough for most Hardcore OCers in BD (What's the advantage of gaining more than 4Ghz in gaming ?). And, that 1MB cache isn't going to play a big role, especially in gaming.

In one word, E5400 is better than E6300, price : performance wise. Save that 1.5k, treating us well using that 1.5k will be a lot better option.

    @rion-- E6300 has 2MB L2 cache.
Or it would have been Identical to C2D series of E7000s.
And New architecture-I would say YES.It has been showing fascinating results than its native E5000s.

FSB plays a big part in games.
    Hence ark also.
You see a E4600 and a PD3.0--E4600 is clearly winner while having same BUS but different speeds.
but E6xxx DC series gaining 1066MT/s it usually perfors a little better in games than E7xxx C2D series.

Oops, sorry, u'r right. :blushing: The E6300 does have 2MB cache.

And, new architecture ? All E5xxx, E6300, E7xxx uses Wolfdale chip... so, how it's a new architecture ? :S

About the PD 3.0Ghz vs. C2D 2.4, yeah E4600 is ahead because of the new architecture. And, E6300 performs a lil higher than E7200 because of it's extra 300MHz clock speed. But, in those games, which uses extra 1MB cache (like fallout 3), E7200 remains faster than E6300. And, for the same clock speed reason (for the most part), E6300 is ahead of E5xxx.

But, how FSB plays a big role in game performance ? :S
