    Default Phone buying help

Hello fellow gamers! Hope you have been well.
I have recently come to a decision that my old Nokia C2-03 has become obsolete and I need to buy a new phone which I am willing to use for 3/4 years. My budget is 12/13k at max and no way I'm going beyond that as my needs are just reading PDF and browsing internet. Samsung Galaxy S duos 2 is now priced at 12.k. Is it a good buy? Alternatively, a guy from my small town is willing to sell his used Galaxy core(dual sim) and he's asking 14k which can be bargained down to 12/13k though I have not checked it physically yet!
Please give your valuable suggestions and thanks for patiently reading my entire post. :-)

Opening Post Update: Dual Sim and android OS are must!

Lumia 525. Honestly, its the best phone in your budget. Have been using L520 for more than 1 year and still damn satisfied.

    - - - Updated - - -

Reasons to consider Lumia 525 over S Duos:

    1. More ram. 1GB
    2. Much better camera.
    3. MS Office 365
    4. Better Display, IPS panel.
    5. Win 8.1
    6. Multitouch. Upto 4 fingers.
    7. Price: Only 11.5k in G&G.
Reasons to consider S Duos over Lumia 525:

    1. 200Mhz faster cpu clock. (L525-1Ghz, SDuos-1.2Ghz)
    2. VGA front camera. Though you will look like $hit in it.
    3. Dual sim.

Camera is very $hitty. Like Chinese phones. More importanly, it has a MAJOR design flaw. The Windows, Back and Seach button is inside the display area unlike the previous Lumias and too close to the start screen apps at the bottom. So whenever you try to press those button quickly or those apps in the lower end of the screen, mispress happens which makes the phone simply unusable unless you have a very skinny fingers.

Used it on a friends house for a couple of minutes and almost threw that piece of $hit outta his window. Worst Lumia i ever touched. Aitar moddhe jodi core i7 4790 processor ar GTX780m o diye dei, its still unusable.

Sorry to disappoint you my beloved friends, but I am not risking my money on Lumia/ Windows mobiles OS. This OS would be way much difficult for my use. Because, I might have many potential talents, but a tech savvy is not one of them. I live in a small town and a lot of people use android phones here, so it wouldn’t be hard to get app/software/technical support for android unlike the Windows Mobile OS. So, Compass FTW

I should have disclosed this matter in the OP but I didn’t. I am sorry for the inconvenience and I highly apprecicate your help! Thanks a lot ....

Ok, I will check the Core to see the product and warranty condition. And, no way I am paying more than 12K for that. Wish me luck

This might be an issue. Cheap phones will have cheap finishing. Do the back-cover and screen-protector solve this issue?

Let me ask a question here, as everyone is discussing about lumia phones. Is there any lumia phone with good headphone audio quality? The ones I've tested and read reviews about have far inferior audio output compared to android ones. I've decided to move to windows phone from android because of the inherent lag of android system, but only this audio quality factor is stopping me.

Also, if you get a chinese/rebranded android phone with Mediatek chipset, and later decide to try out custom roms, you are going to have a bad time.

A Walton? Seriously? I do own a Walton bike and when I go for free servicing, I always see a lot of people with faulty Walton phones are shouting the hell out of the Walton Servicing centre. One of them owned a warranty covered ZX or something (priced at 30k) and the servicing guys were asking 11k as repairing/parts replacing cost. What a scene it was! I should have tapped a video of the whole event.
Beside this, If I were into MTK/Generic devices, I would definitely go for the new cheap symphony phones with IPS display and quad core CPUs. Thank you for your concern though.

I've tested 800, 820 and 720. And for other newer/higher end devices, read the audio section of GSMArena review. And compared to HTC One, Galaxy S4 and S5 or Nexus 5 they couldn't even come close.

Interestingly, 1020 along with other newer models doesnt even have an audio section on their review.
