Default Help with GPU for mostly 3d/Rendering

One of my friends was asking for a GPU that would perform well in 3dsMax, adobe after effects, Google sketchup, C4D, premiere, illustrator, photoshop, a few video pixel tracking software, etc etc. His budget is almost 40-50k.

I was suggesting him GTX 770, though I said lower ones would probably perform just as well for that kind of work. Any suggestions guys? Open for Radeon alternatives as well.

IT would be wise for you to look at 3d animation /modeler forums to see what gfx they are using. 40 to 50K cards are good enough to render but this also depends on the user ..how demanding his job or profession is as a modeler . Some would say 100K gfx ,some would say 30K is good enough..it all depends on the user ..who is he working for ..and what he actually creates with those software. Adobe after effects illustrator dont need powerful cards..but 3dmax maya esp if he does big projects then def 30K plus card...getting the new models as well the working period..say you want the project to be rendered in pc for 12 hours..then think about the cooling system ram...you get the idea.

Tell him to get AMD's firepro or Nvidia's Quadro and not a consumer gpu then. So i would suggest getting either the AMD FirePro W5000. nvidia's alternative(at that price range) is the k2000 and it isn't good enough in that case. so get the W5000.
