People used to suggest 4650 for 1280x1024 or 1440x900. I mean, in that resolution, u can play most games in acceptable graphics quality. So, I suggested a 1366x768 one, which is much lower than his budget, but for long-term gaming.

And, I don't want to imagine how games will look in 19k, if u use 4650.

my suggestion is go for 1080p!
and speaking of avater 24 gb version i don't think you can get all of it without a full hd 1080p monitor.
samsung have one in your price range but may be it is not available in market right now.
i have a vx2260wm from viewsonic, it's 22" and full 1080p(price is around 14.5k). it's good you can go for it if you can manage the money. but there can be other better options too!
but try to buy a 1080p if you can manage, you will not be disappointed that i can guarantee.

    12K-LG 2243T.
    Great monitor.
    Can't be beaten for price.

Agreed about movies, but no amount of AA can cover the weakness (pixel fading, AFAIK) of lowered resolution. Like - 1280x1024 with 0x AA is much better than 640x480 with 16x AA (in 17" LCD).

Well, I tried in many PCs. In my PC (15" CRT), playing FC2 in 1024x768 0xAA (Others- DX9, Ultra High, HDR, Bloom on, VSync off) provides great graphics, where playing in 640x480 8xAA (Others- DX9, Ultra High, HDR, Bloom on, VSync off) gives pixel fading, I mean AA is useless in this settings, and the game looks bad (note, other settings are quite cranked up). I also tried in COD:MW2, POP:WW, AC1, AC2, Crysis and many other games in my PC. I also tried in my friends PC's (with LCDs).

    Here, (1024x768) - (640x480) = 786432 - 307200 = 479232. It means, your PC will have to handle 479232 pixels more when u'll run in 1024x768 over 640x480. And, (1920x1080) - (1440x900) = 2073600 - 1296000 = 777600. So, u'r PC will have to handle 777600 pixels more when u'll run in 1920x1080 over 1440x900 (19" monitor's resolution).

As, 777600 > 479232. So, u'll face that problem in even even bigger scale than me, even if I run games in 640x480. Which means, u'll get even worse graphics than me even in 1440x900 resolution and even if I game in 640x480. And, no amount of AA can solve that problem fully. Also, my GPU is more powerful than yours. So, there's only one way - play games in 1920x1080, but in 'low' graphics quality, then u won't have to face these AA/resolution problems, and if u'r happy with that, then u can't get any 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 monitor happily.
