Question Need suggestion to buy a HD LCD monitor

    Hello,

I need suggestions to buy a HD LCD monitor. Preferably I want to buy with a HDMI port since I might buy a console. However image quality such as contrast ratio and brightness is also important for me since I watch a lot of movies, especially due to daruchinibd.com

I would like your suggestions. My expected budget is around 15000. So any suggestions around this price range would be nice.

I have seen ASUS model around this price range that does not have a stand. It is supported by a ring at the back. It is with 2ms response time and has HDMI and 1080p support. (However it does not have DVI port and its static contrast ratio is unclear to me and has brightness of only 250 cd/m2) Is this monitor good for buying ???? Any has experience with this monitor ????

If anyone has a second hand HD LCD that wants to sell, please also knock me.

    Expecting people's suggestions.

    Go for viewsonic VX2260WM @ 15500k , ASUS MS226H @15000k and AOC F22 @13200tk.

As far as I know a particular model of Raedon card (4000 series) does have problems in that resolution, and get viewsonic from UCC @ Alpana Plaza, Elephant Road

If Dell UltraSharp 2209WA 22" Black Widescreen Flat Panel 1680x1050 IPS Panel 16:10 does, then get it.

But, it doesn't has three features you want - 1. 1920x1080 resolution, 2. HDMI port, 3. Price (it's available in 16~18k).

But, it has IPS Panel (others are TN, you'll face problems when watching movies from angels in TN panel), you wanted HDMI (maybe for best quality), but use an HDMI-to-DVI connector (even in consoles), and u'll get highest quality. Also, it's response time, picture quality are great.

And, I didn't heard any Radeon 4k series problem in 19k resolution. :S

4 series radeon should be able to handle that res quite fine. And with all features that you've asked for will certainly exceed ur budget regardless of the model.

Dun worry about TN panels since the viewing angel issue is not much of an practical issue caz u wont be watching movies from 120 degree(horizontal) angle are u? lol

But do look for vertical angles dats wut matters.

Btw u can look out for new 120Hz models although im not sure whether they r available or not.

Not only vertical angels, IPS monitors has other features too.

And, 120Hz monitors are useless if u don't use 3D Vision.

Response time isn't everything. Your eye won't notice that kind of lag. Dell's one got 6ms, that's not a problem.

And, resolution isn't the main thing. Screen size is the main thing. 24" with 1920x1080 is better than 23" with 1920x1200. Same here, 22" with 1680x1050 is better than 21.5"/22" with 1920x1080. In fact, lower resolution is helpful in long-term gaming.

And, the viewsonic one is 16:9, where Dell's one is 16:10 and 16:10 is best for everything. And, lack of HDMI port isn't a problem. HDMI-to-DVI cable provides same HDMI quality picture in DVI monitors.

Also, IMO Dell's one is sexier than Viewsonic's one. So IMO, get the Dell one.

Response time is a problem for gaming.
Specially if u play FIFA 10 in 2ms & 6ms monitor u can find the difference easily.
I suggest go for the 2ms monitors if other specifications are good also.

ya response time does matter for gaming .....

specification is not the problem ....... problem is availability ...... ami idb te jamon asus er ta chara r kisu dekhi nai ....... asus er ta bhalo kintu oder static contrast ratio ta kothau pai nai, including web and so mone hocche beshi bhalo na ..... abar oitar stand nai ...... it tilts against a ring support at back end ..... so aro nicher dike takai thakte hobe on my desk .....

also are u sure there is no difference between hdmi and dvi ???? ami jinishta akhono internet theke research kore 100% sure hote parlaam na ...... onekei bole difference nai abar onekei bole difference ase ..... but ashole ki otai bhujhlaam na ......

Yes, definitely 16:9 is better then the awkward 16:10 ratio, and there is a new monitor launch in IDB, Asus branded, cant remember the name but it does have 2 ms response time (maybe)
And there is a big difference between HDMI and DVI, i would prefer HDMI for high resolution gaming and HD content viewing over DVI anytime

16:10 > 16:9. Its a matter of personal preference anyway, but LCD panel makers opt for 16:9 because it saves cost since LCD TV's are also 16:9. But 16:10 gives you more vertical resolution while keeping the same horizontal resolution, hence professional monitors still use 16:10.

Thats off topic though, atleast in BD you will be hard pressed to find a 16:10 HD monitor, almost all are 16:9.

Also, most response times that are marketed are wrong, but honestly almost all new TN panels will have a response time which will be find for gaming, and monitors differentiate between themselves by using response time compensation, which is a workaround to reduce GTG lag. The level of RTC and how much the marketing team are prone to lying determines their advertised response time..

    I am the proof.
I used DVI before now i use HDMI all looks wonderful than before.
There are various kinds of DVI, but the most common is DVI-D. I think its the placebo effect. You think HDMI should produce better image quality, and hence it actually feels better than DVI-D. However, while HDMI does have greater bandwidth than DVI-D, in reality, the only difference atleast in 1080p resolutions is that HDMI supports HDCP and can transfer audio as well as video. They transmit a similar video signal. However, DVI-A is inferior to both DVI-D and HDMI

Look the 2209WA reviews, it's absolutely great for gaming, the response time isn't any problem.
