    Lightbulb GPU Upgrading [SOLVED]

Well , i want to upgrade my GPU from AMD Sapphire 6570 to a comparatively higher end GPU. My budget is a bit low - 7K for GPU + 2k for PSU.
I'm getting offers for used AMD 7770, AMD Sapphire 6850, nVidia 550Ti and such cards at this rate.I know that AMD Sapphire 6850 is theoretically better than 550Ti or 7770 and also 256bit card but i need some solid reviews and suggestion from you guys Which one will be best to pursue of those 3 or any other?

P.S - Last year i ended up buying a 6570 for 6k from UCC when i didn't know anything about GPUs , so i don't want to do the same mistake of wasting money on buying entry/mid range cards with my current budget. That's why i'm looking for Used GPUs.I want to play Most games with Medium/High Level for next 2/3 years minimum.

    Current Rig:
    20" Monitor (1680x1050)
Intel C2D E7400 [Soon will be upgrading to C2Q]
    AMD 6570
    DDR2 4GB Ram

Don't think it'll be safe to run a 6850 or a 550ti with a PSU of 2k... should consider increasing the PSU budget...

No , actually I was going to buy Used c2q as games nowadays require quad core processors.

Thanks , would you prefer upgrading to current gen. With a dual core Haswell chipset instead of a Q8/9600?

lga775 socket for your C2D or your planned C2Q is getting very old. soon, it will be obsolete. in my opinion, it will be better for you to try to sell your mobo, cpu, and ram and get 2nd hand core i3 [sandy bridge second generation, socket lga1155] 4gb ddr3 ram and a h55 chipset mobo from gigabyte or some similar brand. look for the said components at laboratory road opposite multiplan centre. it has a somewhat good selection of 2nd hand h\w and 10 to 15 such shops.
and as for hd7770 or hd6850, hd6850 performs a bit better but the hd7770 has a much lower power draw [somewhat around 80W compared to the 130W at full loads]. so a normal [new and which meets ATX revision 2.4 or above] psu would be just fine with your hd7770.
it would be best if you do not go for the C2Q and instead go for a system update with a core i3. keep a lookout here and other places for said parts...

Thanks for your comprehensive suggestion , actually I will be buying a laptop with current gen. Components and won't be gaming much in near future. So I totally don't intend to upgrade my desktop to current gen. , maybe only 3/4 years I will be using the desktop for gaming. So anything that'll do just the work this time will be enough for me.

Will 7770 be enough for gaming? I saw at some forums that with latest driver 7770 is almost near to 6850. And what about nVidia , any suggestion?

Giant bro , thanks for you suggestion. I may have another option for AMD 6870 for 7k-8k , is it worth the money and psu_hassle
(I assume 7770 will be very calm for the psu comparing these two)

6870 is a much much better card then a 7770... But the 6870 consumes almost 90% more power than the 7770. If I were you I wouldve gone with the 6870 but with a decent psu preferably a second hand 80 Plus Bronze TT... So if you can find a PSU like that then go for the 6870...

    Ok so , 6870 > 7770 > 6850 . . .
another crucial thing , should i go for 77XX with warranty for security or 68XX can last for long , do u have any idea from past experience of second hand deals! @giant bro.

another crucial thing , should i go for 77XX with warranty for security or 68XX can last for long , do u have any idea from past experience of second hand deals! @giant bro.
my experience is very well....i recently bought 5850 from @Nafis Iqbal bhaia....he lives in dhaka, and i live in khulna....our deal was totally finaled over the internet....we never met in person.......
    its about trust....

5850 and 6870 perform the same, and also has the same TDP of about 150w.....these two will run very well on TR2-500....
if you are buying a non-warranty gpu, check it well....OC kills the lifetime of gpu, so ask the seller about it....
burn the gpu with FurMark and measure highest temp, and compare it with the highest temp of the gpu, that is listed or quoted on different forum websites....also, notice if there are any artifacts shown.....

What about CPU upgrade option? Does Intel G2020 is good enough for Hd7770, 6850? How much corei3 is better over g2020?..I'm asking cause I have similar upgrade plan..

Never stress gpu using Furmark as it will decrease the lifetime of the gpu. Use Unigine Valley or Heaven. I use Valley though.

DON'T go for HD 6000 series gpu. The latest AMD drivers mostly improve performance of HD 7000 series or higher gpu. Poor drivers can seriously hamper game-play.
My gpu suggestion will to be the HD 7770 or the renamed R7-250X.
Its performance is better than GTX 550Ti and also HD 6850 nowdays. And consumes half the power of a "perhaps slightly more powerful" HD 6870. This latest benchmark http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages...nchmark,7.html shows that HD 6870 produces 10fps lower than R7-260X. A HD 7770 also usually produces 10fps lower than R7-260X in the latest games. So, HD 6870 isn't very powerful than a HD 7770 in the newer games and may sometimes even be equal in performance.

GTX 560 performs better than HD 7770 but consumes more than double the power.

Overall, considering your budget and power supply unit, HD 7770 seems the best choice.

But if you could extend the budget and buy a R7-260X 2GB gpu, it would be much better bang for the buck

i dont think he will get a 2nd hand r7-260x right now... its too new a card for someone to sell it. plus, even if someone's selling it, it will obviously have warranty and cost will be high. go for hd7770, you should be able to game just fine.
you said you will buy a laptop with current gen and you won't be gaming much on your desktop in the near future yet you say that you will game for the next 3-4 years and asking whether hd7770 will be good for gaming...?? what's up with that
your cpu won't cut it for today's games, believe me... i used a e8400 overclocked at 3.6GHz all the time[sold it an year ago] and yet i had serious bottlenecks with cpu intensive game like gta, nfs the run [can't remember others]. so please upgrade your cpu, mobo and ram to 2nd gen sandy bridge which released back in 2011. those components are also last gen but they compete with current gen much better. if you want to game, get the hd7770, core i3 lga1155 and 4gb ram min. that's my suggestion.
