Thread: need some advice(AMD cpu)

    Default need some advice(AMD cpu)

need some advice on whether to upgrade frm A4-apu(duel core) trinity series to A-8(quad core) richland series or A-10(quad core) trinity series?

currently using A4 and motherboard supports upto richland(3rd gen) apu series .

difference in A-10 second gen and A-8 3rd gen is almost negligible. A-8 has superior graphics while A-10 has more ghz

your board supports upto 6800k so i guess u can buy a 6800k, it will cost u around 13-14k.

it's built in GPU is 8670D, pretty much enough for gaming in low resolution

Get an A10... the GPU in A10 has 384 Cores while A8 has 256 Cores.

For better comparison check : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...icroprocessors

    A10-6700T A1 4 2.5 GHz 3.5 GHz 2× 2 MB 8650D 384 720 MHz DDR3-1866 45 W Sep 18, 2013
for example the 384 here shows the GPU core count. Its in the GPU -> config section. And why are you usiong 2d gen 3rd gen.. AMD APUs dont have that... its either Llano,Trinity or richland cores

trinity is counted as second gen as far as i have heard :/ .. and richland is 3rd gen followed by kaveri which uses steamroller cores and calls itself 4th gen

    - - - Updated - - -

so is hould just get either A10 trinity or A10 richland ? A8 being bad idea

I am kinda surprised UCC have the those kaveri parts too. Link : http://ucc-bd.com/products-1/search-brand/amd.html

The A8 is also good, but the A10 with 128 more GPU is worth the price i guess. You can later crossfire it with an external GPU to later.
The performance difference between A10 richland and trinity is minimal. Get the A10 5800K (trinity).

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...view,3528.html

The actual price diffence between A10 5800k and A10 6800k should have been around 10-20$ but here it's 3000tk more.

And make sure you use both the RAM slots in you mobo (To enable dual channel memory). AMD APU's benefit hugely from the extra bandwidth unlike other AMD or intel processors.

Look at the FPS gains with high memory speeds http://www.legitreviews.com/testing-...ity-apu_2106/6 almost reaches 50%
