I think 5850 is a better buy than the 5830. It worth the extra u r paying for.

    For secondary use: E2160 OC @2.2Ghz| Gigabyte 945GCMX| 1.5GB DDR2| Thermaltake 400w| Intel GMA 950

Still 5830 is overpriced worldwide, so don't expect a good bang for the buck u'r paying in BD.

    5850 is 280$ (if available), where GTX 470 is 350$. 70$ more.

GTX 470 is around 10% faster than 5850. So, paying 70$ more is enough for 10% performance boost ?

5830 is a crap deal at stock, but a beast in overclocking..

Still, 19K is too high, ~17K would be ok (still, not for stock speeds)

About GTX470, its a great card based on price: performance, but the 5850 still beats it on price: performance, and performanceower.

Ki jani vai. Ja porlam tai bollam. N 10-15% slower hd 5870 theke. 10% boost with $60 again. As the hd 5870 is currently $410. N tesselation power is impressive. So overall performance over hd 5850. Future e aro valo perform korbe with latest drivers and tesselation power. So is it worth giving $70 more? 32XAA n also good for computing also. And as far it shows hd 5870 is $130 more than hd 5850. And 20% faster. And amar mote $350 for this gpu is ok. New gpu. And also got very good tesselation power over ati 58xx. So you decide whether 5850 or gtx 470.

UCC(Alpona Plaza)-te Sapphire notun lot anse last week. But price depends upon combinations. If you take that 5830 with a system it will cost you less. Also if you take more than one piece, price will be less. TK.19300 is last price for retail unit there.

Judging from all respects, 5850 is indeed a better bang for the buck than 5830. Sacrificing 10K shader units for Tk.3000 is not worth it, unless you have a very tight budget.
