    Default Facing a weird problem with my GTX 670

    i have a Gigabyte GTx 670 windforce 3x OC edition GPU which i am having some issues with..............even though i placed it in x16 PCIe 3.0 slot of gigabyte b85m-D3h mobo it is always running at x4 speed..............i tried reseating it again and again but it's always running at x4 at full load which is ridiculous.............is it a problem of the GPU or the MoBo???????i have warranty left for the GPU...........so if i bring it to the shop how long do u think will it take to repair or replace it????????

    make sure to connect it in the Top PCI express port. the lower port is actually a x4 port.
    if it doesnt work reset CMOS.

    i dont think the gpu has any issue, as far i know the b85 boards has 2 pci slots so did you try both of them? and update the bios of your motherboard that might help

    You put in the 2nd pcie slot to look your machine cool Didnt even read whats written in the circuit board.

    Motherboards usually has features to turn down PCIe speed when not needed, to save power, like the CPU.... my CPU is 3.50GHz, but most of the time it is running at ~1.5GHz.

    And my GTX 680 is normally running at x8 speed with x16 PCIe 3.0 motherboard.... so don't worry about it.

    it wont matter for a GT210 but it should matter if the GPU is a 670. although difference will be small but saying it wont make any performance difference is 100% wrong.

    yes the difference will be a litte bit like 1 to 3 fps may be which is as same as no difference at all

    did everything u guys said............no improvement..........i forgot to mention earlier............sometimes it's running at x1 speed.............but after restarting PC it goes back to x4..............

    send your card to RMA. You see that sweet cute thing of mine? Thats an 8800GT OC gigabyte. The same problem happened to me in 2008. Had to sell it for damn cheap price then.

    They couldn't fix it............so they are replacing it.......but gigabyte gtx 670 is unavailable in market.......so they gave me 2 choices...

    1.replace with gigabyte gtx 670
    2.replace with gigabyte gtx r9 280x........but then i'll have to pay 5000Tk more......

    i am thinking about going for r9 280x......what do u guys think????
