    @CODhunter

    thanks for posting this thread bro.

    i also have three questions regarding this matter.

    and which one of these two cards(i mean cards based on these two chips) has better reputation regarding longevity?

    between a secondhand(suppose it is used for a year) 4850 1gb and GTS 250 1 gb which one will perform well in the long run?

    and is thermaltake 400 watt lite power power supply enough to run either of these two cards (4850 1 gb and GTS 250 1 gb)?

    repu added for posting this thread bro.

    so you are saying you saw arif vai running GTS 250 on a normal 500-600 taka r PSU.

    isn't it risky to run a card like this on a normal PSU?

    and thanks for you suggestion regarding GTS 250.i do like the stability Nvidia driver provides.

    No psu upgrade now and GTX 260 price is very high so secondhand price is also gonna be very high as you mentioned already.at that kind of price i would buy a new graphics card with lower performance.

    bro you are taking a lot of risk running your i5 750 and 4850 on a 300 wat power supply.my advice for you is to upgrade your psu as soon as possible.you don't want your Gpu or mobo,processor to get fried.

    and i will buy after 3-4 months.not now bro.

    thanks for sharing your experience bro.

    but you know i have a bad experience about cheap psu.

    i remember when i run a 8600 GT with a normal psu a few years ago just for one or two days that normal psu died.so better be careful with your 8800 GTS.

    I have a 7800gtx running for around 5 years now, going great. Also have a radeon 9800pro for almost 7 years, sold to a friend but it still works just fine.

    Unless youre very unlucky, these cards certainly survive if cooled properly.

    Just one advice: Buy a 2nd Hand GPU and dont OC. I had done this several time in my lifetime and had never come across any bad luck other than once when I didnt do things right. It was an nVidia FX5200. I OC-ed it to high levels and I faced with several BSODs. The person had used it fine for years. Now I have got rid of it anyways!
