Exclamation Need help about buying a gaming rig.

    Hello to all brothers.

I plan on purchasing a new gaming rig anytime soon. Since I am new in this forum, I don't know the rules much and sorry if I am mistaking anything. My configuration can go as follows:

Intel Core i7 860 2.8 Ghz. CPU (Lynnfield not Bloomfield)
Intel P55 or any compatible LGA 1166 motherboard (But full ATX is very preferable)
4-6GB DDR3 RAM (Any brand/Performance does not matter)
ATI 5850 Graphics card (XFX or Sapphire whichever is cheaper)
A PSU that goes head-to-head with this GPU and CPU but yet cheap (PSU is very important)
A cheap but spacious casing that can fit all the beasts
Optical drives and hard drive not required

The purchase can be expected in between May and July. So, I have lot of time to consult and make my purchase tactfully. If required I can buy necessary things before hand if prices are expected to rise. Please everyone, my request would be to help this young brother of yours. I hope, Inshallah, I can come to some good help of yours one day.

    Thanks in advance!
    Mohammad Tahmid

Welcome to BG, I'm Rion, 1 year younger than u.

Buy this rig (I'm writing the current price and availability) -

    Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz 8MB L3 Cache 95W TDP 1MB L2 Cache @ 15.5~16k
    ECS H55H-M @ 5.5k (if u want to stick with 4GB) or GIGABYTE P55 - two models are available 1st one is 8.5k, 2nd one is 11k with USB 3.0/SATA 6Gb/s support, but it'll turn to USB 2.0/SATA 3Gb/s if u want to enjoy full PCI-E 2.0 x16.
    2x/4x ADATA/Transcend 2GB (= 4/8GB) DDR3 1333 Bus @ 8k/16k
    Sapphire/GIGABYTE Radeon HD 5870 1GB DDR5 @ 31k
Delta 650W @ 9.5k (no other PSU's are available ATM, If ASUS Vento U-75HA 750W @ 10~11k is available, then get it)
    Space 703 Casing without PSU @ 2.5k

BTW, tell us about your monitor and resolution.

Suggestions are alright, except for the one in RED. Get the P55 mobo instead.

    1. GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD3 (last time I heard it's 11k) is better than both of them.

    2. It's Delta 500W, not 550W.

I cannot express in words how thankful I am to all of you people. Thank you a lot for this configuration.

@Rion: Bro my monitor is Samsung T220 (Resolution 1650x1050). USB3 or SATA 6GB/s does not impress me a bit. Moreover, this Space casing...Sure it can fit all of it? One more thing. This PSU curfew going on everywhere. Have any idea when it stops? As far as I have seen in other posts and personally at IDB, Delta is currently the only trusted one and available at Binary Logic. Can't I have any hope with Fortrex PSUs? If not then no problem. Living at CHT, the help you have done to me is very appreciable.

@Anik Bhai: Brother your PC is simply superb! I just have a different opinion about the graphics card. This quotation looks very appealing but have to really go to the market and get the real picture. Allah knows what is waiting for me. Nowadays the PC market is resting under thunder and lightning! Delta is available at Binary Logic, right? I will have a go. Gigabyte at Smart and etc. Only thing worrying me a little bit is PhysX support but doesnt matter much. Bogra...Hmm...Have to go one day.

@hiei-warrior: Yup, P55 rocks. I don't know but as far as I have read in forums and elsewhere, H55 and H57 are a lot more stripped versions of P55. They just seem to have something or the other missing . Too bad...

No one can tell u that.

No, they may be good enough for low-end config, but not for u.

Everyone seems to disagree with the PhysX fact, most says it's a piece of crap. Yeah, I also have to admit that, PhysX is a part of NVIDIA's "The Way It's Meant To Be Played" technique, and it'll stop, but maybe after a 1-2 years or so. In the meantime, NVIDIA will capture more game developers in their blocking method, and maybe more will be interested in PhysX, because they'll get some serious cash for th offer. So, u can't enjoy those beautiful effects in ATI. Trust me, I've not tested Metro 2033 and Darkest of Days with PhysX, but in Mirror's Edge and Batman: Arkham Asylum, PhysX rocks. Though, PhysX in Dark Void is a real POS (piece of $h!t).
