Thread: Headphone shopping

  1. #1

    Default Headphone shopping

At the moment I'm using logitech ue 2000 and I want to upgrade. My budget is 6000 Tk. I'd prefer over the head ones. Honestly I'm not perfectly sure what the proper terms are to describe the kind of sound I'm look for but I suppose something alone "clearn and crisp" . I don't really have any relatives abroad who could deliver for me. Also, would it be better to get it from abroad through those stores that ship amazon stuff or just buy from here. Also, if I could get quality headphones at less than my price range I wouldn't complain .-.

I'd primarily use it for Music and I suppose gaming. But gaming is really secondary here. http://www.last.fm/user/TheMightyWaffle for what kind of music I like, if that's any factor. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for replying! I would really prefer full sized ones because I really don't need the portability at all. Would you be able to recommend some of those? .-.
Also, is head-fi a reliable/good source for checking up on headphones? Should I ask there as well?

Sorry I guess I didn't read the OP carefully. head-fi.org is a very good source for audio related topic. you may ask there. But I'd ask you to read some post in there. you'll get an idea.

Yeah I kind of live under a rock. My knowledge is limited to like 4 or 5 subjects .---. . I suppose I could also ask around in music boards and such, they usually know their stuff. Cheers

Edit: Why is the synonym of "poop" a blocked word .--.

I think you should increase your budget a bit and get something like Sony MDR7506/Sony MDR-V6/Shure SRH440.

  10. #10

    Default

Well the MDR7506 is completely out of the question, I don't have 130 dollars .---. . As for the others, would the price to quality ratio worth it? For example I can get the Samson SR850 within 50 dollars. What I'm asking is would the added investment be reasonably worth it? If so yeah I'l probably be able to increase my budget. Also, thoughts on the Samson ones?

Sorry for asking so many questions .--. and thanks for replying.

Considering your budget, I would recommend you to get a pair of Superlux HD 681. For the record, I never owned it but I did my research well coz I wanted to buy it. For crisp and punchy music, it should perform well for your tastes. I later decided not to invest a penny ever again on headphones unless it is a Beyerdynamic DT990 or similar category headphones.

Just saw @Badhon_raj 's post. If I were you, I would not hesitate a bit and buy that CAL! 5500~6000 BDT would be great price for CAL!

But I can guarantee you, no matter which headphones you buy, soon you will be greedy enough to upgrade to a higher quality headphones. So don't LoL at my vow. Just kidding.

And yeah I suppose that's true. There's apparently some kind of vicious cycle of audio quality everyone gets stuck in .--. . Right now though the main reason I'm pissed is because my UE's chords are super small and I have to connect my modem and it at the front (Modem doesn't get signal otherwise) and I'm getting massive amounts of static -.- . I can only listen to really loud music which drowns out the noise lol
