    Default Tool

Welcome to music world if you haven't heard band tool. Yes I'm welcoming you. Now for most of you guys may not like Tool because of inconsistent beat, rhythm from lead guitar to bass guitar even in drumming. To understand Tool you outta understand the odd counting in songs otherwise half of the beauty of Tool's song, you won't get it so to get a better understanding of odd counting in song visit this linkTime signature . And yes it's a progressive Metal/rock band and they are considered few Gods among progressive bands because of their 中中ing awesome usage of odd counting and variations and patterns. And I'm addicted to them

You can find Tool's entire discography here - http://www.torrentz.com/2b38c56698ee...d1cc5a3eacfc26

But most of you haven't heard them so let me suggest some songs for you -

    Vicarious direct download link

    Schism Direct download link

At the beginning of this song you can detect the inconsistent beat of guitar and drum and the rhythm is 2/3 and this called simple time signature, where the latter part of the song consist rhythms like 6.5/8 which is called complex time signature and some additive counting too 3+2+3/8.

    lateralus direct download link

and if you are planning to download their album then at first download 10,000 days and Lateralus these two albums

Nahhhhh. I listen to garbage crap[indie, pop, powerpop, britpop etc etc] to death metal except some black death metal[I don't like their screaming and voice except that they are cool]. As you can see it from my last.fm profile which is under my signature

But I do admit that progressive genre attracts me most with their 中中ing awesome mesmerizing pattern and variations but sometimes I wanna head bang in some lamb of god concert which is not possible

Very few people heard about Tool, well, Tool's genre is overtaken by Opeth, thus teenagers are centering their mind on Opeth, they hardly knows about Tool.
Kiron, I think you're avoiding some rules here by posting Torrent links :S, not sure though

Nope, even though they have a similar genre, opeth varies from progessive rock to death, while tool does not stray into the death metal category. Instead, they vary their songs by their rhythm and sequence. Lateralus was one of the best albums ever, so was blackwater park. Hence i dont think you can say tool's genre is overtaken by opeth, in any shape or form. Both are brilliant

Agree, Being progressive Opeth varies from screaming death metal to mellow but Tool has a constant flow of progressive music. "Damnation" album of Opeth is more mellower than any other albums of theirs. Plus Opeth doesn't use that much of complex structure of song composition and odd time signature compare to Tool. But for Tool from last to fast in all most every song you'll find complex song structure, odd counting and the best part about Tool is while listening to their songs you know that they are using odd counting like 4/6 or 8/9 which is detectable but you can't detect their complex "poly rhythm" [consist of 2+3+2 rhythms or 8/20 rhythms] but you know these are in the songs.

In song like "Jambi" you find use of "Talk box guitar" solo Talk box guitar and in "Disposition" track you'll find use of "Tabla" and other instruments like octoban , pickup , Fibonacci Number and other progressive acts which is absent in Opeth.

Opeth and Tool despite being on Progressive genre their don't overshadow each other. Opeth is more digest-able to mass than Tool. That's why people like Opeth more than Tool.
