Default World Cyber Games Announces Additional Titles for WCG 2010

World Cyber Games Inc. (WCG), organizer of the premier international video game competition and festival, announced today, three additional games to be featured as official game titles in the WCG 2010 Grand Final in Los Angeles on September. Worldwide fan favorites "FIFA 10" and "StarCraft: Brood War" join the popular mobile franchise, "Asphalt 5," adding to the diverse 2010 Grand Final title roster.

"FIFA 10" and "StarCraft: Brood War" return to the WCG Grand Final as two of the most beloved franchises since the inception of the World Cyber Games ten years ago. These titles have served as the backdrop for some of the most intense and memorable moments in competition history and 2010 should be no exception. Participants will aim to oust Joshua Begehr (SK_KROne) of Germany who battled his way to the coveted "FIFA 09" gold medal while gamers from all over the world will try to beat South Korea's Jae-Dong Lee (JaeDong) in "StarCraft: Brood War" to earn gold medal supremacy.

The official additional titles announced today are as follows:

    PC
    - FIFA Soccer 10 (EA, Sports)
    - StarCraft: Brood War (Blizzard, RTS)
    Mobile
    - Asphalt 5 (Gameloft, Racing)

"FIFA 10" and "StarCraft: Brood War" are two of the most popular competitive franchises in the world and are vitally important to our players and fans. Having the opportunity to also include a leading racing series like "Asphalt 5" allows the WCG to offer a robust and diverse set of titles for gaming's ultimate competition." said Hyoung-Seok Kim, President and CEO, World Cyber Games, Inc.

WCG announced the first round of titles last month which featured a total of seven official games titles and one promotional game title:
Official game titles - "Warcraft III" (PC, Blizzard, RTS), "Counter-Strike" (PC, Valve, FPS), "TrackMania Nations Forever" (PC, Nadeo, Racing), "Carom 3D" (PC, Neoact, Sports), "Guitar Hero 5" (Xbox360, Neversoft, Music), "Forza Motorsport 3" (Xbox360, Turn10, Racing), "Tekken 6" (Xbox360, Namco Bandai, Fighting)
Promotional game title - "Lost Saga" (PC, IO Entertainment, Action)

The WCG 2010 Grand Final Los Angeles will be held in September with a total of 10 official game titles (6 PC, 3 Xbox360, 1 mobile). There will be another announcement for promotional titles in the near future. For more information please visit www.wcg.com

This time, we expect a lot more from our FIFA and CS participants. And it is good that neither of them are dropped.

see? told you FIFA 10 will be there

and it's pretty much clear that NFS won't be returning in WCG ( or won't return very soon ) . Undercover was buggy and it didn't deserve to be there. But Shift didn't have that kind of flaw, so GG NFS

If u ask me, I'd say SHIFT is also quite buggy. Ekta straight road e gari ki kokhono hotat jump kore??? Kokhone turning e, kokhono braking e Jump maree... so SHIFT maybe good, but not good enough to played as competitive.

EA should make a better NFS. NFS WORLD er finish build ta jodi bhalo kore then maybe eta dite pare. But then all depends what EA does.

couldn't keep myself from going off-topic, but lets face it, EA was making a mark with the underground racing theme and they messed things up when they turned to sim. what's wrong with going underground given the fact there are other sims which beat NFS Pro-street / Shift hands down!

i think they want to discourage underground racing and turn people to licensed racing in real life...
