Mod the Hydro Radiator and do a push-pull, else a venomous-x push-pull. That TEC has trouble at higher loads

    980X, nothing else there really

    what else?

I guess you ment "octa" fire; cuz two 5970 is quad fire already. But octa/hexa fire is not possible anyways, as each 5970 has, unlike 5870, only one Xfire bridge connector port. So it is only possible to connect just two 5970 by Xfire bridge. Why do you think I have only two 5970s

I was trying to run some PhysX games with full physics enabled and my framerate dropped below 10FPS even with the i7-920 15% OCed. Specially Batmant: Arkam Asylum e PhysX objects on korle game er chehara change hoe jae... interactive smokes, thousands of particles ...the graphics looks awesome but my CPU can't handle it... on the other hand PhysX off kore dile all these cool affects chara game pura panta bhaat er moto hoe jae... I realy felt the need of a more powerful CPU and some dedicated PhysX card.

Been considering a dedicated PhysX hardware for a long time but latest nVidia GFX card isn't an option for me, but thanx for the idea... appriciate it.

The reasons I can't add an nVidia cards are I don't have any PCIX slot left in mobo, all 8 PCIX connectors of PSU already in use and with nVidia card, I'll have to use a third-party crack.

I don't mind, too much, using cracks to use an nVidia GFX card as PhysX accelerator in my rig but I need a PCI solution that won't need external power. Problem is AGIEA PhysX PPUs are out of production for a long time and almost impossible to come by. Lets see how it goes.
    Thanks.

EDIT: I'll still have to go forward with i7-980 though...

Wow its still in stock! I want one of those. Streamyx, do they perform as well as nVidia's GPU physx? Pardon the noob question.

Oh, and I assume it won't take too much power to run? My 500W PSU is already being stressed enough.

Shahrier Vai, I suggest you not to get that PCI graphics card. A few days ago I dugg the possibility of adding an old 8600GT with an Nvidia GTX275. From numerous forum posts of PhysX users using an such setup I found that the older card actually bottlenecks the primary cards performance. To get some real performance from a dedicated card for PhysX a GTS250 is suggested as minimum. However using a slower PCI card will further impact your performance.

And the Agia PPU cards are discontinued by Nvidia and officially not supported under Windows 7. So theres no point of buying a discontinued product.

AFAIK, 8600GT is a decent choice as dedicated gpu for physx. saw this in mirror's edge, darkest of days, batman: aa and dark void physx benchmarks. using above than that offers very little performance improvement.

Umm....no? Anything lower than a 8800/9800GT sucks for physX.

Guys, greately appriciate the info. THanx...
I did a little bitty of home work and found very little about PPUs... Talked to a guy who is using BFG PhysXPPU with ATI3870X2 and he's Crysis benchmarks looked awesome.... I never wanted to get 8600GT GPU as PhysX card anyways,.. so don't worry about it.. cuz it needs hack and that hack doesn't work anymore....

Already ordered the PPU 2 days back and am gonna get it tomorrow... Will run some serious test on it with Batman Arkam.

Nvidia actually do provide support for PhysX PPU in Windows 7. It has latest and dedicated driver only for PPU in its website which supports Windows 7. so no worries about that... and will not interfere with any GFX card what so ever.

I am just curious how will it handle PhysX compared to i7-920.
    Should be fun.

    :/

why Crysis's performance will increase when running with BFG PhysXPPU ? Does crysis have any GPU accelerated PhysX or should that card will help your i7 920 to handle physx more smoothly/easily ?

I've never heard things like this before, please explain it.

I guess he ment 8600GT only as a supporting PhysX hardware, not primary GPU. But still, using nVidia GPU as supporting PhysX card is not a solution any more... the crack doesn't work with latest nVidia drivers... it causes game crashes, and it is not compatible with most of the games... Anyways, no point talking about it since it is not a solution anymore.

You missed the point. I mentioned about Crysis not to imply that the PPU helped with PhysX... I ment the PPU didn't create any disturbance in non PhysX games like Crysis... that means its not interfering with the GFX in its business when there is no PhysX task required... that seems to be the major problem while using GPU based card as PhysX accelerator in ATI GPU based system due to the GPU interference. But it seems that PPU is not causing that problem... Crysis' example was on that issue, not as a PhysX performance example. I can see how it lookes confusing... my bad.

Anyways, I'll see how it performs when I put it on a spin myself... thats the main purpose here, So I can't say anything about its PhysX performance untill then.

yeah, that's what I wanted to mean. and btw, PhysX runs great in Mirror's Edge with my 9600GT (which is a little weaker than 8800GT) and without any dedicated gpu for physX.
