what speakers do you have ? If you dont have very good speakers, a sound card wont make any difference.

You can take a look at Sound Blaster Z OEM version which is quite cheaper than full retail one. Xonar STX is very good for music and movies but you need good bookshelf or home theatre speakers (note: not computer speakers like logitech or Bose) to notice the audio quality difference.

alright it seems a bookshelf speaker. You can go ahead with sound card although I have no idea about your speaker performance.

You can also go with USB DACs if available for the price of Xonar. They will be cheaper but will give similar performance.

Xonar essence STX is availanle at uttara Syed Ground. I tried solo 7c with Creative sound blaster 24bit and onboard sound, found no difference.
Those who using solo 7c, should place his speaker at right position, at the corner and sit like 6/7away and u can feel the difference.

If you're willing to spend a bit more money for audiophile grade audio, then ditch the sound card all together and get yourself a USB DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter) and reference monitors.

If it was a 2000 taka worth of Creative sound blaster card then im not surprised.

But the diff would've been a lot pronounced if these speakers were driven from Asus Xonar Essence STX
