Next Gen FPS: "GET EVEN" - Graphics Quality is close to the Reality
Get Even, the upcoming shooter from the developers of Painkiller, has been officially announced.
The Farm 51 look to be aiming to shun traditional FPS tropes and gung-ho gameplay to create a game that blurs the boundaries between what we expect from single-player and multiplayer experiences…
Get Even is set to feature a pair of linked stories that run concurrently throughout the single and multiplayer gameplay, with player choices having a dramatic effect not just on the unfolding events but on your character’s personality as well. The story takes place through the memories of the game’s heroes and mixes thriller and horror elements to weave its tale.
Once you hop into a game is where things really get interesting though, as Get Even takes on a Dark Souls-esque twist by inviting other player characters to take on the role of the enemies. The Farm 51 claim that this “suspense further heightens the player’s feeling of a threat.” I feel like it's 2000 all over again and I've just booted up Perfect Dark.
Clearly not one’s to shirk when it comes to the looks department, the team at The Farm 51 claim that they are the first to make use of large-scale real-world scanning to create photorealistic environments. The ‘What Is Real’ Get Even announcement trailer does a pretty damn good job of confusing what’s in-game and what’s real footage so we’ll have to wait until a later date for a better look at how this is shaping up.
Get Even is set to arrive in 2015 for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
