Lightbulb ATI Catalyst 10.3a (unofficial) better then 10.3 (official)

On March 24, ATI released Catalyst 10.3 which is the officially WHQL certified driver.
But it is not the performance driver. ATI released a performance version Catalyst 10.3 on March 17th which is called Catalyst 10.3a in its underground website called "AMD Underground for Do-It-Yourself PC Builder". 10.3a is not WHQL certified and has special tweaks for better performance.

    Downloading now!

Edit: these benchmarks don't show much of a difference http://www.overclock.net/ati-drivers...vs-10-3-a.html

Less than 1% most of the time, and the 10.3 is always ahead. :S

10.3a is a tweaked driver that was done at he last moment and didn't have enough time to submit for WHQL certification. It is assumed that 10.3a will become 10.4WHQL. Also, the tweaks done might only affect some highend models or configuration like CrossFireX. At this point only thing they're saying that 10.3a is a "performance" driver compared to 10.3.

As for the benchmarks mentioned are not done with various cards or configurations to be conclusive. That guy has only an HD5850. I'll run the test on Saddam Hussain as well and see how it goes. Who ever has ATI card should run some tests on these drivers and give input in the thread.

I can do some tests, but I don't know which tools to use for benchmarking.

Hope the sites use 10.3a in benchmarking with the new GTX!
