The Witcher 2: “Half our players didn’t realise” there were multiple paths
The Witcher 2 developers CD Projekt Red suspect around half the game’s players didn’t realise the story branched for the second act, and say this was a failure of design
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings featured a second act that played out radically differently depending on your choices at the end of the first. But, according to developers CD Projekt Red, a great number of people didn’t even know this after they played the game.
Calling the design decision an “experiment”, studio head Adam Badowski said: “For sure it was a success, but probably half of our players didn’t even realise that they can choose totally different paths.”
“And that’s actually something we could improve in terms of communicating with the player – telling them that there is such an option in the story,” added joint CEO Marcin Iwinski. “There were so many people who only found out about the choice over the internet or by their friends, or they never found out at all. So in that case, you can say that all the work we put into that other area of the game went to waste for those players.
”Speaking in a huge interview on Gamasutra, the pair agreed that it’s important to experiment in such a way. But Iwinski added: “I think we didn’t successfully communicate it. To make it a more appealing feature for players, we didn’t make it visible enough.”

hmm, thik e bolse. beshir vag gamer e kintu akhon ekta game 1 bar game over kore ar khele na. ar witcher2 er branching ta asoleo miss kora khub easy. aro boro kotha braning ta ato radical , its like you are missing half the content right there. so yeah cd projekt did something new , but didn't work quite well. im sure next cd projekt game gulateo emon branching thakbe, just oigula spot kora gamer der jonno easy hobe.
imo, any hardcore rpg fan will play a game at least twice. i am playing this third time and as it is now in dark mode, progression is slow. but i think nobody should miss the branching, as the idea was clearly visible at the start of the game.
obviously we always have our plate full of other games. it is also a reason. anyway it was and will remain a great treasure in pc gaming history.
Still,am proud to say I am part of that dying breed.
But,seriously,I have always been a chaotic-good type of player, can't even bring myself to cut the innocent woman's throat in a game.I played this game twice.Got the same frigging ending twice.I knew there were different endings, which is obvious since it's a morale\choices dependent rpg,but never saw it.darn.

Live with life in your blood,Die with honor in your name.
Mass Effect , Dragon Age, The Witcher, Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Fallout, Skyrim all are awesome.
Every gamer should try role-playing games as it gives you real challenge and tests(don't want to mention Demon's Souls) and you can crave your own path........

Most people think time is like a river, that flows swift and sure in one direction. But I have seen the face of time, and I can tell you, they are wrong. Time is an ocean in a storm. You may wonder who I really am, and why I say this. Come, and I will tell you a tale like none you have ever heard.
Witcher 2 getting a mod tool 'REDkit'
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Developer CD Projekt Red announced late last week that its "REDkit" mod tools will be shown at this week's German game convention, Gamescom.
Beyond the ability to make Geralt into a perfect facsimile of Laa-Laa from Teletubbies, the tools enable PC users to create "new, non-linear adventures," "great looking locations," and "much more." There's no word on when the tools will be available.
