Default DPI for Gaming - Higher DPI or Low?

    Hello Everyone,

I am using the A4-Tech OP-620D (Regular) mouse for gaming, which has 800 DPI. I have felt that, in fps gaming my cursor moves slower than my friend's pc. In my friend's pc, I feel comfortable in shooting but in my pc, it feels like slower to me.

My question is, If I purchase a mouse of 1800-2800 DPI, Will that solve my problem? and another question, is wireless mouse good for gaming?

dpi depends on screen resolution too. search web for more info

Yes, this will solve your problem. I am currently using a 5700 DPI laser, can never play over 2400 DPI... too fast!!

heck no! there is input lag, short battery life and the good ones are really really expensive.

You can increase the sensitivity ingame and get a similar feeling. No point in wasting money just to get higher DPI when increasing your sensitivity will do the same thing.

There's something called "ergonomics" for a reason.

actually i think better mouse is needed not only for grips but also for better mouse movement(dpi) and response (polling rate). i used many a4 tech, atm using x7. and compare to g500, a4tech mouse movement is not that good, these type of a4tech dpi fluctuates (i know it will make u guys angry how can dpi 'fluctuate' but i think its true coz mouse movement are not 100.000 % smooth in a same axis. as i came from a arctic warfare precision rifle (g500) i can realise 2.2 )

so buying a better mouse obviously help u a lot in competitive gaming, but not in casual multiplayer let alone sp.

shimanto whats ur grip? ergonomic or ambidextrous? ergo hole adder kinte paro. note that if u buy adder without warranty u gonna hv a very very bad time.

last time i checked cantar ishtrike e shobai dpi komaya khele... ar cod e keu komay keu baraya khele

so buying a better mouse obviously help u a lot in competitive gaming, but not in casual multiplayer let alone sp.

Do you see him complaining about the shape of the mouse or feeling uncomfortable holding it? He only mentioned DPI and that obviously has nothing to do with ergonomics.

What does that even mean? Ergonomic refers to the design of any equipment and ambidextrous is when something can be used with left or right hand. You are talking about palm grip and claw grip.

Edit: Sensitivity in CS varies, everyone doesn't use low anymore. Use whatever you are comfortable with.

Is your problem with mouse movement or response rate? If it's movement then increase ingame sensitivity till you feel good with it. Leave windows sensi on the 6th bar (default value)

Response rate (polling rate) can be addressed by changing the mouse if your current one doesn't let you change it, but considering the little difference, I doubt that is what you are experiencing.

To me, any mouse with atleast 1600 DPI and little weight for stability is enough for decent gaming.

Bro I dont have any movement problem. My problem was about the speed of the cursor/point in fps gaming, it feels like slower to me. I have tried to fix that through increasing mouse sensitivity and turning mouse acceleration on and off but I am not satisfied with the result. Maybe I should try with a highed DPI mouse, shouldnt I?
