Default help - buying xbox 360

    hey everyone. i'm new here..

im buying an xbox 360 in the next 2 -3 days, and my options are xbox 360 arcade or 360 pro. here's where i need help. i know the difference between the two originally, but what is the 'price' difference currently? ..

if i get an arcade, how much extra will a 20gb hard drive cost me?

and what exactly am i getting in arcade, and what exactly am i missing from what i would get if bought the pro?

    thanks..

The difference is only the HDD, and I think you should get the HDD. Arcade's come with a 256MB memory card. New 360 firmware updates allow installing of the games to the HDD directly, which results in faster load times and less heat (big issue for 360). But if you do get a good model of the 360 then you won't be needing the HDD as the new 360's are stable.

Basically, when it comes to the 360, pay more attention to which model you get rather then which version you get. The differences are in the chipsets they use. Use this guide to help you differentiate: http://banglagamer.com/forums/showth...y-a-Jasper-360 Get a 360 with at least a Falcon chipset (with HDMI port) and if possible get the Jasper (150W PSU). Ask the store manager for the details, he should know what you are asking about.

Edit: Can a mod please sticky the guide?

okay so i have a question
what's the reason for getting an Elite with 120 GB ?
i mean ppl in bd don't get to download extra contents from Xbox Live or whatever
and AFAIK 360 doesn't have any game install feature such as ps3
don't u think a 40-60 GB would be more than enough?

Hey, I'm gonna get an Xbox 360 elite from Washington DC after a week. Some people are saying it won't work cuz the games will not work here and they said something about the TV modes. I told him it would just have to be modded here. I don't know much about this and I'm getting worried if it'll work or not so please help.

It will work. USA=NTSC, so you just need to get NTSC copies of games (widely available here). All modern TV's should be able to display everything correctly, I belive they all come with PAL and NTSC modes. If you have a HDTV then just connect it via HDMI.
