    Default Mechanical engineering

I will appear in HSC examination in 2011.But at present I am in very much mental pain.I want to take my higher studies in Mechanical Engineering. But I have learned that among public universities only BUET,DUET,RUET,CUET,KUET and engineering colleges(outside Dhaka) has this subject and among private universities only International University of Business,Agriculture and Technology(IUBAT),Stamford University and Asian University of Bangladesh has this subject. At present I can't read because of this thinking.I have lagged far behind in my studies.I don't think I will get chance in any of the public university which has this subject as the competition and applicants are very very tough. For the private universities I don't know if they are good and has a good rank.I have heard that IUBAT is good but I am not sure. You guys tell me about it.My another question is where can I really learn about engineering private or public university.By really I mean real education, which not just memorizing for becoming a graduate but for learning and using my creativity to make cool stuff. One more thing is that I have some serious problems in my legs.It is hard for me to go to a long distance but I think I will be able to manage a car in the near future. So guys please give me your opinions. What will happen if I don't get chance in a public university. One more thing is that I will have to live in U.S.A in the future. Are Bangladeshi engineering degrees from public or private universities considered upto America's engineering degrees?

first tell me why the hell do you want to study Mech.Eng. ? do you have any choice of any special sector on ME that u want to work on in future?

IUT (islamic uni of tech) is the best among private ones, but you will need a good GPA...
if you are determined to live in US, and if you have a good economic condition, then try to apply US colleges after you HSC
i will be passing bsc on mechanical from buet this year, and i already have parmanent residence of US... i can say it would be better from me of if i cud go to US right after my HSC.

dont take any tensions, first try to have a good result at HSC, then u will have enough time to think about your grad
if you are scheduled for HSC 2011, then you have more than 1year left, its very much possible for you to have a good result and study at a public uni
so, concentrate on your HSC first

A tard type thread like it won't help you.

and firstly Don't think about getting in a private UNI ever.

if you have good GPA then get into a PUBLIC uni.

and then IUT is very good for Mechanical Engineering.

try to get a good GPA in our time it needed two GOLDEN A+'s to get into it.

though some of my friends got admitted there though they didn't get chance in anywhere.

but believe me IUT is very good.

but if you can get admission in BUET KUET then that is other story.

    be good on study now.

don't be paranoid about what you will read.

it is something like------Giving birth to a son before marrying.

If I achieve a total GPA of 9.8(SSC + HSC) will I get chance in IUT?Are you sure that IUT has Mechanical Engineering subject for undergraduation.I have heard that they have Mechanical and Chemical Engineering subject for undergraduation. One more question is that is it hard to get chance in DUET?

just one question---WTH you get DUET as a competent univ in BD?

and then with 9.8 in total of SSC and HSC you will get hard times to get any good public varsity in BD.

Like I had golden in SSC but missing a sub in HSC till i was nt able to get into BUET but got admission in other varsities.

so concentrate on your study first.

I don't think I will get chance in MIST because I am not physically fit.I have problems in my legs.By the way when I will go to USA for my Masters Degree will they consider seriously from which university in Bangladesh I took my Bachelor Degree?I have heard that they prefers private university degrees that public university degrees both in and outside their country. Is it true?Almost all of their good and famous universities like Harvard,Stanford,Cornell,Duke etc are private.

Errr...did you mean that you heard private university degrees are recognized and public one's are not? That is news to me. Get a good result in H.S.C first mate. Then you can think about what you want to do in the future. There are a lot of members in this forum who are students in good institutions. They will surely help you when the time comes.
