    Default GPU temp increased

i just noticed that my GPU temps gone up by 5-6 degrees
before it used to be 47-48 (casing closed)
    now, 53-54 constant (casing closed)
only change made to my pc was the new monitor
    is it because of that?
maybe its because it has to support a higher resolution now
    pro advice please

most probably yes.........coz when u increase the resolution.....the load of the GPU will increase..... & higher load........obviously temp will increase.......
    so....no worry.....

btw......ur gpu will be safe untill....the temp reached @~100

erm! just pointing out that, gfx card works equally hard in low resolution modes. that is why we get more FPS in low resolutions then we get in high res mode. gfx card does not have the ability to scale its performance based on the work load. It always gives 100%. the two times it scale back are when it works in 2d instead of 3d or when it throttles back due to high temperature. some times the temperature difference between different games has more to do with the nature of textures it is processing then the resolution. for a 4850 around 50c is not a high temperature. may be its the hot weather which is resulting the sudden rise in temperature. your gpu will throttle back around 110c-120c so unless you reach over 90, there is nothing to be worried for 54c idle. you should be more concerned about your load temperature. as that is more important. just for the peace of mind, you can try to blow off the dust form the fan and heatsink of your gfx card and make sure the airflow of your case is moving the the proper direction.
