I would suggest to go 4 XFX/ECS GTS250 and an extra 2GB of DDR2 Ram as you are running on 2GB.That will be a huge improvement for u in gaming.I might tell to go 4 4870/5770 but on that case you would have to increase ur budget and you coundn't upgrade ur RAMs.2GB RAM is not enough for now-a-days.Ur TR2 420watt is enough 4 that rig.U don't need to change ur PSU.

GIGABYTE Gigabyte Radeon HD 5770 1GB PCI Express Card Tk:13,800

I know its a bit more than your price range, but i guess you should get this if you want DX11.

Otherwise get the 4870.. its should perform better than 5770, but lacks DX11.

If that price is correct then you should spend a bit more and buy that. It's a lot better than a 4870 in terms of efficiency and heat output.

I'd say get the HD 5770. Its more future proof, and performs around the same as the 4870 (~3%) when at stock speeds, and easily eclipses it when overclocked. A great budget gaming card, see if you can save up for it.

    Otherwise get the HD 4870.

BTW, the 128bit vs 256bit thing doesnt matter much, since the 4870 has excessive bandwidth and the 5770 has slightly limited bandwidth, which can be overcome by overclocking the RAM. Also, the memory speed in the 5770 is 4.8ghz, vs 3.6 for the 4870 so thaty slightly offsets the memory width issue

    take a look at this . http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards....=615&card2=564

looks like hd 5770 consumes only 108 watt compared to 150 watt (HD 4870)

Getting a GTS250 instead of HD 5770 will be sad IMO. ATI has lately stepped up their drivers, hired more for their driver team, and generally have well received drivers by the community. Point is though, a HD5770 with "sucky" drivers will still beat the GTS250 with ease in features and performance.

HD 5770 has a better compression algorithm compared to the HD4870, so given a certain memory bandwidth the 5770 will be more efficient in utilising that. But still people keep insisting on that 128bit memory bottleneck. Lets take the facts, 5770 has 77GB/s compared to 115GB/s for the 4870. Now almost all 5770 memory overclocks to 1400 (5.2Ghz). That gives a memory bandwidth of (1.400*128)/2 = 89.6GB/s. At this bandwidth, the 5770 should be the same as the 4870 given that the 5770 compression algorithm is more efficient, offsetting the 25GB/s memory bandwidth advantage of the 4870, and also due to the fact that downclocking the 4870 to around 105GB/s (800mhz) shows no performance loss whatsoever, proving that 4870 has excessive memory bandwidth which its compute processor cannot fill, while the 5770 has a slight memory bandwidth bottleneck which a minor speed bump on the memory will fill up.

The main thing is, since slightly overclocking the 5770 memory more or less removes the memory bottleneck, the 5770 is not bottlenecked much after 85GB/s(1.33ghz, ALL 5770's reach this speed). When the memory bottleneck is removed, the 5770 is much faster due to.the faster core All that consuming 2/3 the power. I dont understand why people keep saying 128bit sux, less performance etc without diving into the details. The only reason people would want to get the 4870 over the 5770 is the price. Other than that, 5770

Its okay to be a Fan boy, but dont talk Non sense. Cuz the GTS250 is a renamed card & is inferior in almost every way to Ati 5770.
And btw how would you kno the ati drivers suck? Ever used any of their drivers after their HD2000 series? They dont suck. But how would you kno.. You are an Nvidia Fan boy.
