    Default printer help/modding

    hey guys.. i need little help..recently i heard from someone that on inkjet printers a modification can be made by which a continuous supply of ink can be provided....
    i need to know
    1) is it possible?
    2) if possible who/which shop can provide that service?

    i asked the guy who gave me the info..but he could only tell me that it's called 'drum' and i can do it if i go to IDB..

    thanks in advance

    They are, yes. I have no idea how much they cost, but my dumb Epson Inket is modded for using them.

    The color is terrible, but it works.

    you can talk with the nilkhet guys as they are always using CISS printers [mostly canon] for colour printing, last i heard was that they get the printers from paltan area[if i remember correctly]. plus, there is this shop in multiplan on level 6 or 7 who deals with printer ink cartridges and what not... can't remember the name exactly..
    and using CISS doesn't necessarily produce bad colours, i have printed out A4 full colour photos of wallpapers[on inkjet photo paper] in nilkhet with amazing colours [for 23-25tk per page]

    I had one printer (epson 45 probably, not sure) moded from multiplan center. Price for the printer was ~3.4k
    They took
    printer-original cartridge+moded cartridge+service charge= 5k
    print quality is not great but it should serve your purpose.

    Just to know, whats the advantage of CISS ???

    Whats the cost of per page B/W printing in a CISS printer ??
    People should stop blaming games for allegedly *copying* each other: "oh this game is Skyrim copy", "this game is WoW knock off", "this game is just another DMC" - enough!

    On this rate every 3rd person action will be God of War, every 3rd p shooter Gears, every 1st will be CoD.. it's ridiculous. They are called genres people! And if you look carefully you'll see allot more than mimicry out there.

    @Reventon
    advantage of CISS is huge cost benefits... like how we refill our printing cartridges, well, with CISS, there are these large bottles[drums, maybe 100ml-150ml] full of colour and black ink and these drums continuously supplies the ink to the cartridges through pipes which are modded to the normal cartridges giving huge printing capacities like 3000 pages.drum prices depend of quality of ink anything from 600tk to 2000tk[guesstimating here]

    @terrygr8_007
    look, i don't know why ppl are saying CISS produces bad image quality. if anyone has used ink refills here on their printers, they should know that CISS is very similar to that... i used to refill my printer a lot. i had canon ip1980, a lexmark, a epson t series printer and now using a samsung laser printer.
    i never had bad image quality with refilled inks. yes, i needed to clean the heads of the cartridges with moist tissue and do deep cleaning of the heads and stuff, but print quality was always good. use good refill ink and good paper and the prints will be lovely. i cannot guarantee the longevity of the prints but quality wise, its all good.

    now, overall my experience with printers and refills was very stressful as printers are very high maintenance. so i would personally advise you to do a estimate of the no. of pages you need to print[full color] and think about the cost benefit of having to go through all this CISS business. i mean try to get an estimate of how much it will cost if printed from nilkhet cause they give hefty discounts on large volume printing.
    also very important to know that you may be saving a lot of money on the ink but if the cartridges wear out [either the circuit sometimes goes bad or most of the time the print head goes bad and produces streaks and lines in the prints], you have to buy new cartridges which is like 1200-1500 each[1 colour and 1 black]
