Criterion, developers of the critically acclaimed (and tons of fun) Burnout series is said to have taken the reins of Need For Speed.
EA chief operating officer John Pleasants said, “We’ve taken the Burnout team and combined it with our Need For Speed franchise. So we now have that in our favor because that Burnout team is probably one of the more online-centric and notably high-quality game developers that we have out at Criterion.”
Rumor has it that the game is Need For Speed: Out of The Law. Some concept art was leaked to the internet which you can view below. The first image is so reminiscent to NFS Most Wanted-
The second one feels a bit like NFS Underground.
Considering these were the most favourite NFS games, it will be nice to see them heading back to their roots.
Reports claimed the game would be called Out of the Law and set in a fictional San Francisco known as Sun-Bay. Police cars would apparently be unmarked and racing was to be focused on street cars rather than expensive sports cars.
