Default getting shitty FPS with HD 4770

I have been getting serious bad FPS with my HD 4770 in CS source... FPS is almost 30 when i am playing in a full server.

    In "1.6" ..i sometimes get 19 FPS in de_rats ....

I read in a foreign forum that "CPU sometimes limit the potential of a GPU"...is it true???

what can i do to overcome this problem? :S.....please post ur opinions !

    my specs:

    Intel D945GCcr (mainboard)
    Pentium D 945 3.0 GHz dual-core processor
    ATI Sapphire HD4770
    2GB Transcend 667 RAM

P.S- I used to get over 100 FPS in CSS with my 8600GTS XXX
    ...defy the future...

May be net or Ati driver problem.
    BTW Pentium D 945 is not a 3.0GHz processor. It`s a 3.4GHz processor.

If your 8600GTS gave you higher FPS, its nothing else but drivers. Completely uninstall(both ATI and nvidia drivers that may have been left behind) and reinstall the drivers. If all else fails, reformat the boot drive, download all latest drivers and install them. It should help restore performance back to where it should be

Its not the card, my friend uses a 4770 as well and he gets over 100 all the time. But he limits it at 100 to get a constant experience.

what can i do to overcome this problem? :S.....please post ur opinions !

    my specs:

    Intel D945GCcr (mainboard)
    Pentium D 945 3.0 GHz dual-core processor
    ATI Sapphire HD4770
    2GB Transcend 667 RAM

P.S- I used to get over 100 FPS in CSS with my 8600GTS XXX
Assuming u have a Clean OS along with newly installed drivers. If u still face the same crappy FPS do the following.

1st of all motherboard alone causing Crappy FPS sounds more of a long shot to me. Please check CPU compatibility with ur motherboard.----Flash to latest Bios.
---- Download the latest Chipset driver 4m intel web page.

Use Rivatuner, atitool tray to monitor CPU and GPU usuage and temp.

high cpu use with low gpu use means ur cpu is bottlenecking ur GPU.

so ""CPU sometimes limit the potential of a GPU"...is it true???Yes, it is very much possible.

But ur cpu is wayy more capable to run CSS at no less than 50-60 or even more...(im not a CSS player though) May be ur CPU is throttling due to temp spike in that

case ur mountings are screwed or u need to reapply thermal adhesives.

now report back ur observation ...

Try COD6, FC2, Crysis, FEAR 2, or any other game's offline single player campaign(oi sob game baade jeigulor fps lock kora thake, like - burnout paradise, star wars force unleashed). Ar Fraps diye result ta janan, benchmark ta koren 15-20 min gameplay er.

Ar, bottleneck korleo super speed paowar kotha cs e. So, cs er problem tar jonno bottleneck dayi na.
