Default Stock Intel Cooler VS Aftermarket CPU cooler :Temp. Comparison

Hey brothers, recentlyI have bought a aftermarket cpu cooler which is Tt V1AX.I have installed the cooler myself by replacing the stock one.now about 1 thing I am confused.I am not sure if I have installed it correctly or not.because there is only 10*c load temp difference with the stock cooler after installing the cooler.(60*c=stock cooler & 50*c=v1ax)is it normal 4 that aftermarket cooler?Or should the cpu be more cooler with that v1ax?please help me brothers.

    @dramaviewer
the temps seem fine too me, you also need to give it a 2week burn-in period for the TIM compound to settle & then the temps should decrease a lil bit more

& also it is fine for a quad, try OCing up to 3.6GHz & report the temps & did you buy the cooler from UCC & where there any more models present from TT???

I am a safe ocer.I have overclocked my cpu @2.8 ghz by keeping the ram frequency at default 800mhz by tweaking ram multiplier.I don't want to overclock my rams because it is from transcend those are not very durable like ocz, corsair etc.you know that Q8200 has low multiplier(7x).for this low multiplier it is not possible to reach over 2.8ghz without overclocking the rams.if I would have 1066mhz ram then it would be possible to hit over 3ghz without overclocking the rams. Yes I have bought the cooler from ucc.on that time there was duo-orb,max-orb,V1 also available.

    mmm good
Transcend eh? thet will do fine until 850MHz or more mayb, but yeah you are in a big bottleneck there:
    Transcend RAM & low multi

& what were the prices of the other coolers???

If you buy your pc from bd then there isn't any other better choice 4 rams rather than transcend, apacer, adata which are pretty much similar in terms of quality & durability.another nasty thing is that greater than 800mhz ddr2 memory modules are not available in bd computer market.so the unlucky fact is you will must be bottlenecked even with your Q9550([email protected],12mb L2 cache) 4 this sucking 800mhz ddr2 rams.anyway other cpu cooler's price:max-orb=3700tk,V1=4200tk,duo-orb=4750tk This price was applicable on 7th december,2009

    :O, but I own a E8400 & not a Q9550
& I can get my CPU to 3.6GHz with messing with the DRAM & that is set a 400MHz(800MHz effective) with a 1:1 ratio with a 9multi

but I my current settings are with a 8multi so that gives 3.2GHz with 400 FSB with a 1:1, I just need a better cooler & yes I have tested this myself, the transcend modules are fairly cabable at 850-870Mhz...so hitting 4GHz with my E8400 aint a biggie

Intel's core 2 duo series processors are the most energy saving & power efficient cpus ever made by Intel.Comparing a Qxxxx series quad with a Exxxx series duo shows a day/night difference in terms of power eating.similar to that, overclocking 4 cores is much more difficult than overclocking 2 cores.my bad luck is that my Q8200 has got lower multi so it is even more difficult to oc it with 800mhz rams.yours one is duo & got 8x multi so that you can do more% overclock than me even with 800mhz transcend rams.

I know that.I myself overclocked my ones @884mhz and kept it for one night.thats not the problematic issue.the bad thing about 800mhz ram is it will die very soon if you oc it without proper ram cooling.ram temps reach to very high level for overclocking which is not generally noticeable.this high temp will kill your ram day by day very slowly.I have am experience about this.

Ok, the situation is.... Something more than bad.

    Pc: pd 930 3ghz @ stock, gigabyte g965 mobo, 2 x 1gb ddr2 667 ram, geforce 9600gt 512mb ddr3 @stock, fake value-top 500w costed 1350/-

facing immediate reset often now-a-days. Thought it must be psu so, getting a tt tr2 420w saturday. But, another problem existing for many days, and that is- my cpu cooler is creating too much sound... Rpm increases much, and remains around 4,600 even in normal times, saw in the bios. i'm not gaming for about 4 months. Pc runs around or more than 10 hours a day. And, temperature ? Forget it. :zz: its 90-92 degrees even in normal times, saw in bios. still using the stock pd 930 cooler, bought the cpu in april 2007. So, the stock cooler is running around 3 years. I think it's cooler's problem, and want to buy a new one for about 1k.

Now, i can't open the pc, and posting from mobile.

Try cleaning the fansink with a good blower, used to work well for my P4 fan which had the same problem you're facing now.
