Default Need help for some upgrades

Hi, I'm new in this forum. I'll build a new rig (may be in next year). It'll be something like this -

    Core i9 Hexa-Core/Core i7 920/Core i5 750 --- Can't decide
Any good X58/P55 mobo (I prefer GIGABYTE)
    3x2GB (if X58) or 4x2GB (if P55) DDR3 1333 Bus RAM
    NVIDIA Fermi GPU
    5:1 Microlab/Creative Speaker
    Blue-Ray Disk Drive
2-3 TB SAMSUNG F3 / WD Carvier Black HDD
    Onboard sound

I won't upgrade my monitor and I'm currently using 16" SAMSUNG Widescreen LCD. My current other components -

    Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00 GHz
    GIGABYTE G31 Mobo
    XFX GeForce GTS 250
    Delta 450w

I don't have any UPS currently. And, now I want to buy a UPS and a PSU for my upcoming pc. As PSU, I choosed ASUS U-75HA @ 11k, as I live in Agrabad, Chittagong. And, I'll buy my PC from Chittagong (may be from Computer Village). And, as far as I know CV is a dealer of Global, so even if I can't find that PSU here, they can bring it for me from Global. But, if I can't find that PSU here, what should I do ? I do not have have any relative in Dhaka either.

As UPS, I prefer RahimAfrooz. But, don't know how much I need. How about 1200VA or 1500VA and how much these costs ? Will it cover my upcoming system ? I really don't have any knowledge about PSU/UPS.

Sorry for the big post. And, thanks in advance.

    Core i7 920
    ASUS P6T

First off all don't get the hexacore CPU (btw it's called Core i7 980X not Core i9), it's a waste of money. I'm sure you won't like spending a grand on the CPU. My vote goes for the i7 920, it's a terrific performer for the price.

As far as I'm aware there aren't any 2TB HDDs available at all in BD. And 3TB drives are supposed to be released in '10 so you're out of luck if they don't get here when you buy your rig. I think the Samsung F3 1TB drive will be available soon so get that instead.

    btw, great config.

There's a min number of posts you need to make before you can do that.

Yes it will be more than enough, assuming that it is a quality PSU. Don't be fooled by the wattage, it takes more than that to handle a PC. While higher wattage is always better there are other factors that come into play.

A 650W PSU from a crappy brand might struggle to run the OP's system while a quality 500W PSU might handle it with ease. So always go for quality, not quantity.

no, currently in a dilemma with ASUS U-75HA 750W @ 11,000/- (I'm sure I can get it) VS. Thermaltake Toughpower 650W @ 11,500/- (Not sure and will be tough for me).

anyway, which will be better for my upcoming pc ? and which will last long ?

Any good X58/P55 mobo (I prefer GIGABYTE)
    3x2GB (if X58) or 4x2GB (if P55) DDR3 1333 Bus RAM
    NVIDIA Fermi GPU
    5:1 Microlab/Creative Speaker
    Blue-Ray Disk Drive
2-3 TB SAMSUNG F3 / WD Carvier Black HDD
    Onboard sound

I won't upgrade my monitor and I'm currently using 16" SAMSUNG Widescreen LCD. My current other components -

    Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00 GHz
    GIGABYTE G31 Mobo
    XFX GeForce GTS 250
    Delta 450w
plz dont mind. But why u want to buy that monster if u dn't upgrade ur monitor. For gaming the best upgrade would be a decent pci e and may ram if they r not enough. But for 16inch wide .. dunno.

Yeah, thanks. I really wanted to upgrade my Monitor first, but my father.... he hates even the 19" monitors. And, I was unable to make him understand that a gaming pc needs at least a 19"/18.5" monitor. He won't mind if I upgrade to a 17" (1280x1024) monitor, but I don't want to get a 17", so I'm sticking with 16" Widescreen. Whatever, Old is Gold anyway.
