    Red face HDD Cooler Mod

Heat issues are always a problem in old cases (mind you mine is working since 2000). If you are using an old case like me, especially all steel cases, you might face some issues if you are OC-ing. Modern Aluminium cases are light. They also have better airflow.

I, an old case user, have faced heat issues after OC-ing. I dont have much for extreme cooling, just an exhaust 80mm fan. After OC-ing it's working pretty good. I had an old Intel Socket 478 fan lying around. So i mounted the fan on top of my HDD and fired it up. Running at well over 2700RPM, its a pretty good cooler for a 65mm fan

    Here are some pics :

I thought I would need such a cooler for the summer. As my case cant provide much of a good airflow, i hope it keeps my Temps cool. My SMART died, or i would have seen results.... So i ask you to make your own coolers and post some results here. I really wanna know how much is this kind of cooler capable of.

Nice...bt i guess if u wud just turn the HDD cage facing towards ur side panels and then place a normal 80mm fan or a 90mm fan on Either side of the cage then ur case wud be much cooler and the hdd heat wud have gone out of the case much easier. For better understanding look at the attached pic.

HDD cooling is on the bottom of the priority list Becaz the way modern HDDs r build heat is not much of a issue at

all....unlike the older HDDs like quantumfireball that needed recalibration due to heat which inturn pauses the disk for few

    seconds.

i am using the space 307 casing which has a very large side panel fan and a front panel fan. my HDD is placed just in front of the fan.when the fan is turned off my HDD shows 32 degree and when its turned on it shows 27-28 degree in idle condition.
this fan really works fine .
