Lightbulb Components from BD and abroad

    Hi guys
I have drafted out a new setup to get as i'm approaching Uni. I opened a thread once before but I have having second thoughts of getting some things from abroad since bd te price ta aktu beshi and as for Warranty, ota niea deal korte parbo.

The setup i have in mind-

    i7- 4770k or i5- 4670k
    Msi gd65 gaming
    16gb g.skill trident ddr3
Psu- dont know which to get
Chasis- haf X (this can be dealt with later)
    Hdd- 500gb WD VelociRaptor
    Gpu- r9 290x or gtx 780ti
Monitor- maybe an Asus or Benq 27"

Now, I am planning on getting the processor, mobo, ram and hdd from the US (since my uncle is coming in May'14). And psu, gpu and chasis from BD.

Now a concerning factor Most of You might state is the matter about warranty for the components i am refering as abroad purchases. I have ppl on the run so i can send it back to claim the warranty. (Max 2 months in and out).

For the purchases from abroad, which ONLINE STORE gives out the best deals and is trust worthy?? I haven't shopped online before but I have seen foreign ppl referring others of NEWEGG and AMAZON. Newegg seemed like a gud online store to me. Would it be okay to get from them? And how does the Newegg's REBATE work.

Ps- My uncles lives in Highland Park, NJ

there is no point of buying velociraptor. rather buy a 250gb ssd and a good hdd according to your need. and bringing 27" monitor will cost you a lot due to tax.

Do not get a HDD instead of an SSD. Let me say that again DO NOT GET A HDD INSTEAD OF AN SSD. This is the single most important element in your PC that will effect performance. Get an SSD. Even a velociraptor can not even come close to a ssd like the samsung 840 pro. Spend the extra, and get a proper ssd. You will thank me later. BTW I am using a OCZ vertex 3 for over 2 years, i know what i am talking about.

I would get two ssds and raid 0 them if i were you.

And get them from newegg. best place to get computer hardware.

Also I will recommend getting the mobo from BD. it will be a bit expensive, but you will need the warranty.

Zimmer bhai online theke kinle apni already 2ta website mention korsen (Newegg and Amazon). I do not know of any other websites which will offer reliable and variety of products. As for price, they do not vary much from the retail price of the product makers put you will get a significant discount compared to the prices in BD.

P.S.: A bit off-topic but you might want to check out www.frozencpu.com. They do not sell PC hardware but they provide many components and accessories for modifiying your PC, casing, etc. Of course this comes much later.

That monitor will cost you above 30k bdt provided u r getting it from bd. And if u bring the monitor from USA, add 20k extra for tax. And gtx 780(non ti) cost my friend around 62k maybe. Stupid Bangladeshi retailers will ask at least 70-80k for your GPU. They even add 17k extra for iPhone 5s golden coloured whereas anywhere around the world all the iPhone wheather they are black and gold cost the same. U should better bring your gpu from USA as they are damn cheap there. But if u can afford 70-80k which is pointless compared to the pricin of USA then u can buy one. One advantage is warranty.
about ssd part, if you are an avid gamer then there is no point of getting one ssd. But again as an enthusiast software developer u can go wrong with ssd. Ssd just improves game's loading time by some second s but changes your desktop experience. U should rather buy a hdd with ssd.
Coolerkaster haf x will cost 16.5k last time I checked.
My paPa bought several products from amazon when he was in da USA. The only problem I got that they had an awful tag of "MADE IN CHINA". I really was baffled to see such logo in us products. But other than that they are fine.

Where else did you expect them to be manufactured? USA? Then be ready to pay $500 for HD7790 class GPU.

Amazon/Newegg is a fine place to buy from, and definitely get an SSD + HDD combo. Get a slow HDD if you want to because you'll just use it to store stuff. I would recommend a 256GB SSD but definitely get minimum 128GB. SSD has a HUGE impact on everything and you will be a lot more satisfied with your experience.

Don't get anything above R290, if you can then wait for better cooler version. Get MOBO + Monitor from BD, slightly price but worth the assurance.

Still I hate the "MADE IN CHINA" logo from USA. But those products were really good and damn cheap.

Zimmer get a gpu from USA rather than here. Monitor and psu would be preferable to get from local stores as psu will be the heaviest part and ur uncle will be charged extra for that weight. Happened for mine. Corsair pays are available here and u can get a tx 850w for 15k in computer source, or hx 1050 for 22k

SSDs can easily endure much more than that, TBs of data written on 1st gen SSDs everyday(totaling 50m for the test afaik) and still they show no sign of wear/performance degradation. Safe to assume a traditional consumer SSD will outlast your average HDD and still be more useful for day to day tasks.

every component is made in China now. You should know this by now. Only few stuffs are made in US, South Korea or Germany these days and those are high priced items like car parts, high end machinery or guitar parts. Computer parts will most certainly be made in China as these are low priced mass selling components (in the grand scheme of all things being manufactured globally, there is no point in producing electronic component parts in developed countries).

those are old articles. SSDs are not like that any more.

SSD life is measured in cycles. How much you read and write. The read portion doesnt have that much effect compared to write cycles.

This is the most recent life cycle review done by anandtech.

    http://www.anandtech.com/show/6459/s...ce-of-tlc-nand

You are looking at a life of around 10 to 30 years on an average desktop user. It is far more likely you will upgrade your SSD drive in 10 to 30 years than it drops dead.

Stupid Bangladeshi retailers will ask at least 70-80k for your GPU.
