Default Is 2 gb enough for single 1080p monitor?

Well i was planning to buy 2 gtx 770 4 gb versions, but they are way too much expensive in china/hong kong. So i am now kinda thinking to buy 2 gb versions. Question is, is it enough for at least a couple of years like 2015 and 2016? Or should i get 2 gtx 760 with 4 gb. gtx 780ti also maintains a huge price tag in hong kong and ever more expensive than that of 2 gtx 770 combined. Pls help me out.
I will be playing on single 1080p monitor.
    Will not mod games.
    rests of my specs are
    i7 2600k
    8gb to 16gb ram
    corsair tx 850w v2

bf4 er jonneo 1080p 2gb enough... but in 2015 it wont be enough for ultra-gaming... this is pc ^_^ .. not console. better get 4gb

why dont u buy 280x at less price and get 3gb vram? its only ~5% slower than stock 770.. but beats the crap out of it in amd titles... note that now a days amd sponsors more games than nv... like bf4/tomb/hitman

Where did you find "add bits" lol? Dual configuration cards mirror memory.

@shafi , SLI > CF, not really. In higher resolutions, actually above 2500x1600 CF is better. But since you are used to nvidia, it's pointless arguing.

Apanake eta ke bolse choto belay?

And no this is not a recent discovery. AMD cards, from 5000 series scale better than nvidia cards at higher resolutions. It's really not that prominent though. Like some games benefit more than others kind of thing.

depends on game actually, and not like every year games comes with better graphics but for future proof its better to buy 4gb versions instead 2gb and you can buy another gtx 770 later

You will not need more than 2GB video memory unless you plan on doing dual/triple monitor setup. Only game that has ever crossed 1.5GB with single monitor until now is Oblivion V Skyrim with some mods installed. I also faced this dilemma and searched around a lot. In the end decided on the EVGA GTX 770 2GB.

More VRAM means you'll be able to handle higher resolutions and multi monitors, and also helps a lot when you're using anti-aliasing!!

I wud vote for 4gb. Cause the next gen is here and the foreseeable future seems quiet promising already (slightly hinted)

According to the official specs, 8GB of RAM is required for 64-Bit OSs, while GPUs packed with 3GB of vRAM are a must. Well, we are happy to report that Battlefield 4 did not use more than 2.5GB of RAM. Not only that, but the game was running fine on max settings at 1080p on our GTX690 (well, apart from various scenes but we’ll get on that later). As you may already know, a GTX690 is packed with 4GB of vRAM. However, those 4GBs are split in two, meaning that each core of our dual-card has access to 2GBs. In other words, GPUs with 2GBs of vRAM will be able to handle this title with ease. The only way to push the limits of the vRAM is by forcing higher resolutions than 1080p with MSAA enabled, or by using 200% scale at 1080p (which is basically running the game at a 4K resolution).

what about frametime issue? i see people still use to recommend sli instead for xfirex
lol it's okay, maybe you were misinformed. Whenever we are talking dual GPU/tri configuration cards, VRAM is completely mirrored. When 1 card stores something, the other card or card(s) will automatically have the same buffer. What is shared in SLI/CF is the processing power.

There used to be modes in SLI where you could select 1 card to render upper 50% of the screen and the other card to render the remaining, but I guess it was game specific and IIRC only on older gen 9800 GX2 cards or lower. The 512bit part completely understandable but don't get fooled by it, for e.g you'll see 6GB 7990s on Newegg, where in reality the card can only buffer upto 3GB each GPU.

    i would vote for 4GB!

in full HD BF4 uses around 1.8GB-2GB and in Ghost full HD uses around 1.8GB VRAM(tested on both GTX660 and GTX670)

so the next gen games that will come might use even higher resolution texture which might cross 2GB.so better safe than sorry.

let the card breath and not choke
    get a 4GB card.

In that review, there's no clear winner. But do check some previous gen cards.
