Default Video Color is appearing faded in Windows 7

    Hi,

I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate RTM 32bit on my Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz with 2GB RAM PC.

I have a ATI Radeon X1650 Pro Graphics Card. I installed ATI Catalyst 9.11 and it installed without any error although the device manager says version 8.593.100.0. for the Display driver.

The Problem happens when i try to run any DVDrip or BRRip/HDRip movie. Whenever the credits roll i can see the black bars separately from the movie. Which means the Color is not appearing properly throughout the movie.

Previously while using XP whenever the credits rolled i only saw the names which appears in white. I wasn't able to distinguish between the black background and black bars, but now i can clearly see the black bars.

Can anyone kindly suggest what should i do now?

bhaiya I suggest going for older catalysts, the newer ones are specifically for the 2000 3000 4000 & 5000 series.
the newer catalysts have dropped the support for the 1xxx series...but you can still find some newer hotfix drivers in the discontinued page

as for the problem, try fiddling with the Video settings & keep it application managed...ought to work, if not revert to older drivers

Arrow Re: Video Color is appearing faded in Windows 7

ATI Catalyst Suite 9.11 doesn't support legacy graphic cards (ATI Radeon x1650 Series). So that might be the reason of your problem.
Note: AMD’s DirectX 9 ATI Radeon graphics accelerators are not officially supported under Windows 7.

Uninstall ATI Catalyst 9.11 & remove it properly with Driver Sweeper (http://bit.ly/4qpmuA).

Download ATI Catalyst Suite 9.7 (http://bit.ly/7HBEDl) and install it.

    This might fix your problem.

yup bhaiya, you should be ok with it...the legacy page holds all the hotfix drivers for the 1kxx cards
but since Win7 is not officially supported, there can be problems...still you should try it out
