Thread: What is the reason behind Malibag's failure?

  1. #1

Default What is the reason behind Malibag's failure?

Well, not much to say here.1 year gone, still we hav'nt been able to come out from th label 'Underdogs'.People are competetive here, they are more serious than any other dota teams, I swear! We are so serious that we hav made th game a lot less interesting hence, lot boring with our seriousness. With all the xl modes and banning of skeli, lich, shaker, blah blah blah...the game is lot less fun.still evry1 is tryin hard to improve.

But yet...WHY DO WE SUCK AT THE TOURNEYS?

I am hoping for criticism, constructive or cynical, i dont care.just tell me/us,WHAT's OUR PROBLEM?

well i personally think that "if you have the bunch of individual star in team and they don't work out as a team then its nothing but a ¤¤¤¤ing farce".From my/our personal experience in UT we were soo much noob but after playing against best players in BD not we are the best and yes we have worked much much hard to be the best.So the same the rule goes for DOTa and one thing i don't like about us is our leadership. We don't obey our leader that much.We should strictly follow our leader's call don't need think for it.But we think for a while and then engage that means leadership is not obeyed strictly and obiviously we have to have good leader[LIke me(lol)] and we have play as a team everyday which lack and we have to build chemistry between us which we also lack and practise practise practise. Also many more things have to be considered.which i will tell you later

no one takes the leadership, thats th problem.another thing is th age difference.we cant lead galib bhai or shomi vai as easily as thy can lead us.commanding is not possible then.and we hv too much respect for one another.suppose if faisal makes a mistake, wolf can tell him easily, but i cnt do tht to galib bhai, shomi bhai, akash bhai, hiron bhai, rony bhai, even th youngsters as protik or saddam, and vice versa. in malibag,every1 is eihter too old or too young to curse at.LOL

beside this we always debate on each other's item build, so the item vary from player to player not hero to hero. We should try the best item

we should play once each week, just two or three games.1st thing is we need a steady team.Shomi vai is forming noob rising,so what should we do?i'm still in galib vai's team, i guess.who would play in who's team is another concern now.

just take as an instance when i led my LEftovers i strictly made evryone to follow my calls and we were succeeded.SO leadership is important.see when in the second match most of teammates thought that we are going to lose this game i told them to hold on and i told evryone to follow what i am said and they followed and eventually we won that match. So you cant be pessimistic

and another point we don't play constructive i mean we are very much item dependent we have to leave this title i think we should more focus on map sense and successful gangbang
and warding[which we do very rarely].I like warding in the last Tournament we L.O. used to ward a lot and that was one of the main reason to win that particular game against you guys which we lack.and to do anti warding we should use necronomanicon.

I personally have a few cents to drop about this topic. It is a cold and hard fact that if you keep playing DotA in your group, you will never improve as a collective whole. Take Blizzard for example, people played at Blizzard for about 3 years in a row, and still they would lose EVERY single game against the Bass players. It is a fact that Assault improved this much because a lot of players from Bass boycotted the gaming zone and shifted to Assault.

But, as a whole, I'd say Malibag improved a lot faster than Blizzard time at it's peak.

Also, players at Bass, would also remain constantly at a fixed skill level. The level of play would only take a rise whenever the players returned from abroad. Tushan, Arbab, Sakib all ive in North America and they play in TDA, TIHL and DXD. Needless to say some of the best players in the world play in those leagues. They come and reveal new tactics and show new things which the players would adapt to. That is the single biggest reason why the level of play at Bas was so high.

True very true MUdd!! Legion is the main reason for the improvement of dota in assault. I remember when he used to play i was like silenced, watching his game behind him everything seemed like a dream to me, some kinda magic that he played. I remember we played against his team, where my team at that time was MASTERPIECE, CLOSER, NIGHT FOX, MAYHEM, PRINCE OF kooL. I remember that we used to lose every day, but still we played, we didnt lose hope and at that time we were noobs, but one day bu fluke we won against legion, that day ClOSER made divine rapier with razor in that game against LEGION< just imagine. Now players like master piece, closer, pok all are well know tournament players, all have improved just for their dedication and a desire to learn the game. THE thing is DONT LOSE HOPE. TRY TRY TRY UNTIL U SUCCEED.

i disagree on a lot of topics...we do ward nd warding is crucial.and ur leadership was okay but i dnt agree tht we lost coz of warding or calling...they were ok but it wasnt like we lost the game for not warding.prob was 2 of ur heroes drow + spectre was counter to our black hole strategy.if u watch the replay mayb u'll see it.we lost it bcoz our combo backfired.

Let me put down my observstion for Weekend Warrior's failure in the last BG tournament:

    1. Lack of playing time together as a team.
    2. Lack of trust during game due to reason 1.
    3. Lack of communication.
    4. Lack of proper team strategy, whish resulted in us playing heroes which our team mates can play better.
    5. AND THE GREATEST OF THE LOT: WE LACK SELF RESPECT AND THINK THAT ONE MISTAKE ANYWHERE WILL COST US THE GAME AND AS A RESULT, WE NEVER FIGHT BACK!!

I can see that 3 of the orginal members, Roby, Soul and I still believe that we can do well. We can also count on Centurian. We need a 5th and 6th permanent member in our team. And, I request Soul and Roby to be frank and constructive, which I also shall try to be with you guys.

As for Rising Thunder, they were better prepared than us, and thus went farther than us.

As for LeftOvers, they were the best of the lot because of the fight and grit they showed.

Ermmm.. I think lack of leadership? You guys have skills.. yes I must say.. its hard to gank you guys.. with everyone keeping TP... but leadership is a very very big factor in a tourney... when I use to play in tourneys... last few ones.. We never fixed any combos or anything from ahead of time.. they all use to say lets play this and that.. and I use to say we'll see.. and when the game was about to start I use to make a combo or pick 5 heroes.. or tell my teammates pick whatever hero you think you can owen with.. like the time we picked Riki on tourney semi and finals.. where we knew senti were underdogs... the biggest part for me.. you have to enjoy the game doesnt matter if I lose or win... Yes it hurts when I lose.. but then If I know I gave my 100% I have no regrets..

Of all the things that I've done wrong
And I know where I belong.
