Talking Will Nvidia show the first real Fermi at the SC(Supercomputing) 2009 ?

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/sc09.htm

Fermi based graphics cards are quite rare at the moment. But at the Supercomputing 09 Conference Nvidia wants to show Tesla cards based on Fermi.

"Now, I have one right here. This, Ladies and Gentlemen, this puppy here is Fermi” - with this sentence and the related graphics card dummy, which didn't even have a GPU, Nvidia boss Jen-Hsun Huang caused quite a stir at the GTC 09. But now it has been announced that Tesla GPUs and live demos showing Fermi in action would be displayed at the Supercomputing 09.

The announcement on the Nvidia website about SC09:
    Must See Demos
    Tuesday, November 17 - Thursday November 19 | NVIDIA Booth # 2365
    • See "Fermi” in Action
Come see a live demonstration of the next generation CUDA™ GPU computing architecture, codenamed "Fermi”. The Fermi-based Tesla™ GPUs are mass market parallel processors and fuel the HPC industry's transition to parallel processing. Compared to the latest quad-core CPUs, the Fermi-based Tesla GPUs deliver equivalent performance at 1/20th the power consumption and 1/10th the cost.

Well, one might be anxious to see if Fermi will be shown in a Black Box presentation, in which GPU Computing demos are streamed on a screen, or if Nvidia will have more or less final Fermi based Tesla products for SC09.

The Supercomputing 09 takes place from November 14 to 20, 2009 in Portland, Oregon and deals, as the name indicates, with supercomputers. Another sign for how interested Nvidia is in that field of technology.

LOL. This should burst the bubbles of some people in this very forum who think Fermi is only a paper monster.
