Finance Minister AMA Muhith has hoped that Bangladesh will become a donor nation within 15 years if it can maintain its current rate of progress.
"We have made considerable progress and started to hold our heads high in the global arena. I hope, Bangladesh will become a lender country within the next 15 years from a borrower," he said at the 40th anniversary of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Dhaka on Saturday.
Muhith said the relation between Bangladesh and ADB, one of its biggest development partners, would change then.
"Our relations will be the one between a lender country and a donor agency," he said stressing the relations would continue to thrive in the days to come.
