i5 K series will be better but it will also require a better cooling system and z77 board as you mentioned, but in your budget if you do that then you cant buy a decent gpu in the rest of the money so if the intention is gaming without a decent gpu you cant play games smoothly in other hand i7 itself more than enough in playing games even in stock clock

    22k for processor+cm hyper 412 4k+ mobo z77 14k= 26+14=40k and i7 3770+b75=25+6k=31k . .he will get maximum 4-5fps more even if he oc the i5 at 4.5ghrz , which doesnt worth the extra 9k

Its always not about d fps

a 4th gen with aftermarket cooler + Ocing mobo just seems like a better investment right now...

if it is not the fps issue then your i5 4th gen even cant stand a chance against the i7 and this person has a limitation in budget and i personaly like the k series processor and oc'ing stuffs but in this budget i7 will be a better investment against k series processor

if you can go for 70k then grab the sapphire 7870, either you buy k series or non k series that processor will be fine for 3-4 years and even if you increase the budget to 70k, it will be wise to spend the rest on a gpu rather than overclocking stuffs
