Default Is anyones 8800GT or 9800GT still working today?

Back in 2009 I spent 15000tk to buy the 1GB 9800GT also had to buy thermaltake power supply for it too.Just a few days before 1 year it stopped working.Later heard that I had to heat it up to make it work again, still it would be temporary and it will be back to being broken again. At that time it was called time bomb by people here at BG.I still feel very bad about it,its the most expensive device I ever bought,I thought I would be able to play games with it for the next 5-7 years easily. So is any of your's this same card surviving today?

I bought my Gigabyte 8800GT 512MB OC edition back in Jan 2008 for 22k. It is still alive and kicking , although I had to do oven trick on it once or twice last year, but still running great as of yet on my old rig.

I still have my card here. You are saying your card is running like normal after heating for such a long time, really?I mean is it working like before temperature and performance?Do you think I can try it too, although I have an ordinary 500 watt power supply now?

Yes. And @mr_08 said the same too about his GPU.

Depends on your GPU really... if it is really dead, then it is dead; nothing you can try will work.

What you mean by ordinary? if the PSU can't provide the necessary amps on the 12v rail then it will definitely kill your GPU if it isn't dead already.

For 600tk, it won't be able to handle 8800/9800gt my guess... and the information on the PSU label is probably exaggerated... I wouldn't trust that.

I was also thinking of getting a new card.I am a total casual gamer.I was lokking at HD 6450 and 6670.Do you think this power supply is okay to handle any of these cards?Budget is very limited.
