walton primo X2(their latest and gratest) is Not better then Sony Xperia V

Because, they use old architecture Processor. Walton uses Mediatek Processors (ARMv7 Cortex A7) and Sony Xperia V uses Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon (ARMv7 Krait) Processor.

Even though Walton has Quad Core, they are cannot do better then the Sony Xperia V's Duel Core . It will almost always beat the Walton, (or symphony, XOLO, or any other products that uses the old architecture)

It always depends on the architecture

(Its like Intel vs. AMD, Intel priced higher performs better and on the other hand AMD cost less but gives more cores more clock speed but fails to perform)

Though the gpus are almost in the same league.

I will tell any friends of mine - not to buy those Chinese phones (for build quality, used materials, etc.)

AND MOST OF ALL I HATE iPHONE and iPHONE SHAPED PHONES

For 30k the LG Google Nexus 4 would be your best option.

I think you should get the Samsung Galaxy s3 or note2, and use the custom ROM for the latest android experience.

doing this you will save some money and get bang for the buck,

LG Google Nexus 4 is may also be a valid option for him if he can live without the SD card expansion. but will get the latest os ASAP
