    Default [Shop Review] Headphone Republic

There are more people online today than there were yesterday. Thanks to sites like Facebook, YouTube and the obvious e-commerce sites, people are making money off the internet. Facebook is also a place where people can set up an online e-store without much hassle. Its hard trusting these stores. Firstly they are not that famous, secondly you cannot try out a product before paying for it.

So it was only natural for me to become hysterically mad at Headphone Republic when I received a faulty pair of JVC Xtreme Xplosives HAF-X1X.

My music taste includes lots of tracks that has heavy bass rhythm in them, and if you are a bass lover who pay more attention to the bass rhythm than anything else about the song then you will also admire the tiny pocket rocket the HAF-X1X. I was pretty impressed when I first used them in 2012. I bought them from USA via a known importer shop, another example of people making money of the internet. But I later sold those pairs, because I needed some cash to buy a knew phone. So when I found the X1X on HR at only 1.6k, I was immediately attracted to them. I was skeptic at first, since USA price was $18 at that moment. The previous shop I bought from also had it in stock at 2.2k. So I was a bit confused. Whether go for USA version, from a trusted source? Or trust in the new guys? Well, the guys who sold me the pair, I warned him that if this is a rip off, tell me now and I wouldn't say a thing. However, he continued to assure me that there was nothing to worry about. I too fell for the low price and also believed that a 15 or 16 year old kid would never think about conning at this age especially if he belongs to a affluent family.

As a result, when I unboxed my X1X, I was shocked. The air tight packing could not explain the headphones soaking in some oilly liquid that was brown. I immediately cleaned them and started to check them for further faults. I found several. They were nothing like the original that I used. It made me extremely mad that they would con people like this, I immediately went online, used every medium at my resource to dent HR and make them regret their ways. It went viral almost immediately.

After I regained my senses, I realized it wasn't the wisest of the things that I did, and I didn't act my age, so I contacted the owner at HR and apologized and asked for a solution. He immediately offered refund or replacement. I was unsure of the replacement product I might receive and my self esteem would not allow me to accept refund of an unboxed product, so I eventually I went for replacement.

So here is the thing, what was wrong with their product?

Firstly nothing is wrong. The reason they are cheap because they are not A grade versions of the product. They are actually B or C grade cheaper production batch made for Asian countries, especially China. They actually import from China. The owner confirmed this over phone and with my request now includes this fact in their product details.

The owner also confirmed this and made me feel less of a liar, as portrayed by most people here on BG and on FB. HR product are not refurbished, but not of the highest quality either. But they do have vowed to change this. They have decided to change their importing sources for better quality products.

Now that's that out of the way, more about the shop. They have good branding and good promotional skills. The owner is very helpful, and unlike the other staff members took me seriously and was concerned about me, and would not let me hanging. He took matters into his own hands and tried to provide me the best customer service he possibly could.

Since they have realized that their stock is in question, they have decided to look into it and newer stock are more reliable. So I would recommend HR for you to get your headphones from.

I would try to buy more from these online shops, just to check them out and sort out cheaters from the good ones. Till then Happy Shopping!

Again, this is what you get for buying things like JVC and Skullcandy.

On a serious note, do they bring anything other than 'JVC' and 'Skullcandy?'

Too much effort and time wasted on a 2.2k headphone.

Good thing they realized their batch was faulty then. We need businesses like theirs to stick around. I barely see any form of effort towards customer satisfaction in shops here, hopefully these online shops will start the era.

Beats And this is my last buy of JVC or Skull Candy. Because this my rough use pair. I take them everywhere, I torture them brutally. I wouldn't love torturing a $70-80 pair of stuff, so rather torture a $20 one.

Thats another reason I support them. Because I want to see online e-store well established in BD too. Even India got sites like flipkart, ebay. Why not in BD too? Want to see more proper eshops in bd.
