First tell him your price which will vary by products. If a 3k-4k keyboard/mouse/gaming accesories than your first bet would be atleast .5k-.8k less than the shelf price. But if a 7k-12k ish motherboard/gaming accesory/PSU etc. start with 1k-1.4k ish less. If the products are lebeled 'only price' than straight no. Mingle with other products of the same catagory. He'll prolly try to sell you some cheaper alternative. Compare it with the one you want. Ask him if there's more. Bring em all out on the counter. Now tell him you like it (the one you want) better than the others. Now gradually increase your offer. Stick with the saving you want. In this case @Cpt.Mactavish 's .5k. If he still persists than regretfully (show some regret. Yawn or sigh works) tell him that is your last offer. If not acceptable keep the products. Now don't go anywhere far from the designated shop. After buying a few other items, acknowledge him your last offer. 100tk more. Even the coldest of heart of UCC/CSL staff will melt. On a different sidenote don't bring your dad. Maybe your cousin or your mom or even uncle. Curious Dads tend to try and acquire much knowledge about the products with the preachery the shopkeepers give em and will convince you to get the cheaper alternative since they think 'all that glitters is gold'. I don't blame em. They are adult boys. While mothers only listen to how much you want off. They'll emphasize it until the shopkeeper's forced to give in. And lastly cousins. You should always choose tech-savvy cousins over snotty-nose 'know it all' ones. They'll help you considerably (if you two're close nuff or in the same age group). That's for today my friends. Others can/should/must add their opinions too.

    Cíao.

OH GOD !!! I know the feeling. When I went to buy my 670 my dad did not want to spend that much money on the GFX card, so the shopkeeper tried to convince him by saying that that the 660ti was almost the same performance as the 670 and they also looked the same (I have an MSI one). Thank god I had the good sense to remind my dad that I knew more about hardware then he did so I asked him to let me do all the talking. Dad agreed and I ended up with card I did not regret buying.

    1. Never go with your dad and always go to the shop with a femal member either if it is your sister or mother that will be fine

    2. Tell them the truth that how much you can highest go for the product in the first place of the conversation

    3. Never buy from a single shop and ask the price of the product in different shops and if you find anywhere slightly lower price from the other shops then bargain them like " ha vy oi dokan e to 200-300 taka kom dekhlam apnader eikhane eto kan?" by this method i guess they will at least reduce the price of product maximum 50-100 taka and then grab it from them

    * this are not the strategy though but i use this things when i go to shops and they works

I'm thinking of using some kind of chainsaw
Attitude works. Don't show that you really want the product. Talk in a way that you are semi interested and you will buy only if the price is low. And saying that you are regular customer works too. Say that: Ami toh apnar kas theke ageo product nisi... dekhen ei price eh dewa jae naki... dileh niteh partam... stuff like that... Its usually hard for a shopkeeper to turn away a customer.
