- Seagate Terrascale HDD

In severs, data centers and other enterprise applications reliant on massive storage capabilities, HDDs need certain traits that consumer models lack, or at least don't focus on.

Seagate has just introduced an HDD that aims to fill those needs, called Terascale.

The Terascale HDD line comes in 4 TB, the 3.5-inch form factor and the lowers cost per gigabyte on the market, or so Seagate claims.

Their drive also has a low power draw, even as it spins its platters at 10,000 RPM and can keep going and going 24x7.

Needless to say, the SATA 6.0 Gbps is used for optimum transfer speed.

As for security, Seagate's Instant Secure Erase (ISE) technology reduces drive erasure times from hours to milliseconds. Good for disposing and repurposing.

Sadly, the official announcement lacked the exact price of the 4 TB Terascale HDD.
