Default Yet another Which ISP (in chittagong) thread.

I've finally reached my endurance limit with Banglalion. But what to do, living in Khulna, and university campus doesn't allow personal BTCL lines for students. Finals will be over soon and I'll be moving back to Chittagong to my family.

So, any idea which ISP is available and which is best option in Chittagong? My home is around West Khulshi area. And I'm primarily a heavy downloader but would like to play games too (couldn't play on-line till now because of crappy internet, only played through campus LAN).

Please help me escape the torture of this Banglalion. I'll be eternally grateful .

I live in Khulshi too (North Khulshi)...
    You can choice between
    Link3 and Chittagong Online
Chittagong online pretty good for international download speed. There pack is like 512kbps at day and 1.5mbps at night for 1k tk.
And I guess u knw pack's of link3... same as any other place.
There are also other isp available like Brosis, Bracnet,Global-Ctg etc.
As North Khulshi is the VIP area of town most ISP's available here though I dunno anything about West Khulshi.

Thanks. Do you use Chittagong Online? Can you tell me how much ping you get on the games you play? And one silly question, is there any Download Cap/Fair Usage Policy on broadband connections? I've never had chance to use one, only used mobile internets and Wimax.

There is no usage cap in broadband connections...
I used to use Chittagong Online, not anymore as I needed real IP so that I can connect to my PC at home from office using Remote desktop and there was another issue (personal) as well, and they dont provide it. Though I ve the connection still at home, that one is connected to my sister's PC. I m using L3 atm. Still I prefer Chittagong online. But remember, they are not connected with BDIX.

About Ping, it depends on which server I am connecting to. U should get below 200ms with any EU server. (170 ms to b precisely). In case of latency Chittagong online is slight better. But you might face issue with routing. They usually provide BTCL routing. Except some places of Khulshi, on those place they provide Mango routing. In Link3 u can get any routing u want.

Thanks again. I think I'll try link3 first, for that static IP and BDIX. But, I've been reading that huge thread at link3 forum, and now my head hurts. There've been talks about p2p being blocked 12 hours and a lot of talk about various routings, and finally getting lower speeds than the pack bandwidth. Whatever bad banglalion service is, it always gives me full speed at torrents 24 hours. Also, most of the time I get (though randomly) mango and [email protected]home routing through banglalion, which gives me 400 ping on NA, and 200 on EU at off peak hours like 6AM. Lets not talk about pings at peak hour though. So, what difference in ping will I get in case I get same routing through both link3 and banglalion?

Btw nothing is capped in Link3 Chittagong... U can use p2p all day and no cap in BDIX B/W. Ok in broadband connection latency supposed to b stable and consistent than wimax services. I dunno which game u play in which server using ur connection.. I just shared the latency with a server in Germany/France, in which I used to play WoW.

I'm trying to play LoL on NA server. And the pings I've posted was through pingtest.net to Los Angeles and Frankfurt, NA and EUW server locations of LoL. And that was today at 8 am with my Banglalion routed through [email protected] Now, at 10pm it's same route and ping is 1200 on NA, 800 on EU. Looks like I'll go with link3, probably next week. Thanks.
