Ubisoft was teasing a new Prince of Persia game earlier this week, and have now given us the full details.
Prince Of Persia: The Shadow And The Flame is a remake of an earlier game but will only be available for mobile platforms; disappointing to many, but it could still impress...
Just like the original game, which was earlier released in 1993, the game still retains the series' signiture 2D platforming elements. Despite the similar base though, the game has improved several systems including the fighting and combo system during combat. We'll also of course be seeing new enemies and puzzles too, specially designed for touchscreens. Ubisoft said:
"The game’s experience can still be extended through social connectivity, allowing you to unlock achievements and ascend the leaderboards or share scores with Facebook integration"
Prince of Persia fans were rather crestfallen after this announcement, feeling like the Deus Ex fans did when The Fall was announced for mobile only. However, it's not all doom and gloom; if you remember earlier this year, Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat said that a proper console reboot of Prince of Persia isn't out of the question:
"I think it is fair to say that, right now, Prince of Persia is being paused. But we said the same thing for some other brands that suddenly popped up because a team is willing to do it"
Prince of Persia: The Shadow And The Flame will be available on the Play Store and iTunes on July 25th, and will cost £1.99.
