Default Trouble with loud sound from mosque

    Hi Guys,

Need some good advice on approaching a serious problem.

The Mosque near my house (2 houses away) has REALLY LOUD speakers. I hate to say this but its so loud that it pinches the ears. To top it all, the Adhaan given at the mosque isn't the nice ones I am used to hearing in the other mosque. This Molvi could learn some qirat lol...

An Adhaan is suppose to invite you to prayers, it has a very unique and inviting sound to it, something you would like to stop and listen to and then go for prayers. This however is just EXTREMELY loud noise with bad highs and lows in qirat

I'd like to approach the mosque and ask them to lower down the speakers but I am afraid they will throw all kind of blasphemy laws and hate crime on me. I tried sealing windows but to no avail... it's still very very loud....

Any suggestions on what to do?

I have the exact same problem ( @coldfire7 can attest to this), but am pretty much powerless in doing anything.

    So, my poor eardrums

    > the Ajan doesnt last forever. why cant you just tolerate for few minutes everyday?

Because it isn't just the ajan, every conference/mahfil/whatever they host there is also broadcast on the same volume, and sometimes go on till 12-1 AM in the night.

Extremely annoying, and socially disruptive behavior that we pretty much can do nothing about.

^ This -- and seriously, the sound is so loud that if a graveyard was nearby, even the dead would comeout from their graves.

Yeah. Same situation here. While the relatively further mosques have some amazing melody, the ajaan broadcasted quite near my house(not a half block away) is blazingly disruptful. And IDK how ajaans are given but I suspect the broadcasts in my mosque are recorded. Because there is a loud background sound of a six-wheeler horn during 'eshaar ajaan'.
My probable next build: Qisan MagicForce 68 (Outemu switch) / Teamwolf Zhuque+ 87 TKL (Outemu) / Monoprice Select series full size (Outemu/Gateron) / Drevo Gramr 84 TKL (Outemu) • Logitech G102 Prodigy • Deepcool Dukase V3 / Thermaltake Versa U21 • Superlux HD 681 • Creative Sound Blaster E1 • LG 22MP68VQ • SteelSeries QcK • Generic executive chair • others TBA

djrock please don't bother me. You are in my ignore list so I don't have to see literal poop.

50mm thickness sandwich panels with air gap in between, should be good for at least 10 dB reduction
Double-glazed glass with air gap, another 5-10 dB
Real Heavy Curtains around your windows

    or change your house!

or buy a pair of peltor optime 101 ear-muffs! 27dB reduction!

@masum1181 @Codex prothita mosque e loud speaker thakbei. Sadly in our country every mosque competes with nearby mosque by increasing sound further sometime adding 5 plus loud speaker. That is a show off how many people are coming for prayer and it is a lame way adopted to become popular. There is some other reason I wouldn't mention here.

Now question is for masum how far you can go for it. Two way negotiation can be done. One simple way find people arround you who also hates this loudness and counts it as a noise. Talk to people of your building and some other nearby. And at a good Friday join together and make a serious complain. Bangla probad dhosher latti eker bojha.

2nd thing you can do is call Dhaka metropolitan Police helpline and have a discussion with what they can do. Seek for answer and ask them to keep your information hidden.

Amar Chittagong er bashai ek Eid e elakar tothakothitho chele pele ra chotto area the 6 ta group e vag hoe charidike speaker lagai e uchshore music play korchilo and I got disturbed. Ami Chittagong metropolitan police er help chaile thara eshe shob stage theke thader thule dei and also warned not to make noise.

ei gula shob chaithe simple way jekhane tomar ekar upor kono problem ashbar possibility kom depends on how good you are at leading.

are u Muslim or others religious?
Jodi muslim hoy then kono murobbi'r kase jao then take bojanor try koro(jodi dekho je poristhi neg then leave him)
then direct mohajjin or Imam ar sathe kotha bolte paro.
tobe aita boilo na je Azan bad den(aita bolle ami nijei tomare pitamu), technically boilo je speaker change korle valo hoy.
tobe age buje neya uchit kake dia keke bolle baper-ta subidar hobe.

It has to be said gently and explaining in details to the mosque authority. Also it could be said that students are having trouble to study when they have a mahafil for a long time with that high sound. You all have to keep your identity very low or unknown if possible. There's very good chance the mosque authority will mark you as non believer or something like that.Even if negotiation doesnt work with them, call the police like Metal said. Its the last thing to do,but still have to keep your and others identity unknown.Elder people can go and have a talk first.Understand the situation more deeply, dont just do something in a hurry and suddenly.
