Default Transcend JetRam vs. Patriot Signature

It's been a while Patriot ram floating around in bangladesh.I was thinking of getting one.As of now, i'm using a PC2-6400 2GB from Transcend. Before i change the brand i want to make sure how much this is worth it.In performance terms of course.Patriots 2GB is being offered here in the same price what transcend is offering. My current ram is scoring only 5.5 under W7 RTM.So i was wondering if patriots one would get me any additional scores.Which one you think would be better? Should i stick with my current one or go for patriot? And why do you think i should? Do you have any practical experience or evidence to compare? All kind of help would be appreciated.I heard rams from Apacer are doing good as well. You could suggest other ram brand as well.

not trying to hijack ur thread or anything, but who sells Patriot memory in BD?

as for the performance, i do know that patriot is a well known brand and has great products so i wouldnt be surprised if it increased ur score in W7

Changing your RAM manufacturer would not make you gain any points, unless the RAM sticks are of a different specification compared to the other one in terms of speed and latency. Also, W7's built in point system is not really representative of true performance, or even memory bandwidth. If you want that, download SiSoft SANDRA and run the memory bandwidth benchmark

I am unsure what IC's the Jetram and Partriot uses, it would be beneficial if you listed the exact model of the partriot and Jetram, along with the latency and speed(or just get the model number). But I feel that they would fal into a similar category in terms of performance since they are priced the same, so i dont think youl gain any more performance

Vista or win7 basically sees how much ram do u have....for example lets say 2gb is gvving a rating of 4.5 and 3 gb will giv u 5.5 performance rating......proven fact!

however it is very unlikely that these windows performancem rating system will incorporate latency aspect or even bus speed.

So if u use same speced ram but of diff brand it wont fetch any extra point by windows per. index.

although ur latency may improve by switching to other superior brand but the gain is hardly noticeable

especially if ur ram is not bottlenecked.
