To mod a 3000 you have to have firmware 5.03 on it, and you don't need to pay Tk2500 to anyone. I guided a friend of mine through MSN, and he got ISO's running in <15 minutes.

Modding a 3000 is different, it does not fully install a custom firmware. If you completely shut it down or lose power then you need to do some steps again to get CFW running.

    Use this: http://forums.pspslimhacks.com/hacki...installer.html

The instructions shown while running the setup. First do the installation, disconnect PSP then run and keep the setup on the instruction screen.

Read the whole thing once, if you have any confusion, then don't proceed. The setup file only copies some files to the PSP, so there's no risk of damaging it at all.

Btw, there are smilar methods for ALL PSP's which have firmware 5.03 or lower. Just google 'chickhen psp XXXX'.

No that was for old PSP's. You just use another 'modded' battery to boot the PSP. This is called the Pandora's battery which I used this to mod Rush bro's PSP.

Howver even that isn't needed for 3000. All you'll need is a mem stick, PC with internet, and USB cable. BUT MAKE SURE the PSP comes with firmware 5.03 or lower. Firmwares have been released after that and they have patched this exploit. No new exploits have been found afaik.
