Default Need Help on E5200 Overclocking

    Hello there,
I am using a pentium dual core e5200 with a gigabyte G31M-ES2C mobo.I know the e5200 is a overclocking monster and when overclocked it can nearly beat stock core2 line-ups.I read in many Pages and forums that 3.3ghz clock(266x12.5) is super stable for it and it can be achieved with stock voltage and stock cooler. So i have tried to overclock it today using gigabyte easytune 5 Pro.I increased the bus to 266mhz and when i press the GO button then the PC hangs and the screen became garbaged.I restarted my PC again and tried with different values, but same thing is happening.

Is the processor oveclockable on that mobo?I use 2gb 667bus DDR2 transcend ram.Anyone please help me overclocking my e5200.

for overclocking BIOS is always the best choice.change ur values from bios.u can easily overclock it to 3ghz with the stock voltage.but with the stock cooler dont go over 3.2 as the ambient temperature is already to hot.disable smart fan,c1e,enhanced halt, eist or every power saving options.check ur stability with prime 95 or with orthos & also check ur temp with core temp.these r the basic idea
