Nafi, nobody ranks pro players just according to their farming and killing abilities. They may be major factors in the ranking process but they are definitely not the absolute ones.
First and foremost, a player needs to know how to farm and more importantly, when to farm. A carry should farm throughout the game and support whenever he feels he can make a difference in battles. A supporter should try to farm early so that he doesn't become a liability late game. A ganker should farm in-between ganks. You have to know this, and know how to farm. If you're a Leshrac and use SE and LS on a creepwave, you might get all the creeps but you certainly won't be pro. This will just push the creeps into enemy territories, and let you farm for a less amount of time than your enemies. If they are infront of your tower that's a different case. My point is that they should know when, how and where to farm.
Then comes hero killing. You should be able to initiate and finish off opponents and also at the same time try to juke the enemies' stuns and nukes. At the same time, you should take care that you support your more vulnerable allies.
Decision making is a huge part in becoming pro. For example, as a Skeleton King, if you farm 3200/3800 gold in a lane, you should not directly go buy a Reaver/Relic respectively. You must believe that you'll be able to farm that much gold again. You should go back, and buy a Bottle, a Boot and a couple of Bracers. No point in buying that relic and losing mobility and spending the next 20 minutes dying while trying to farm 1525 for the Radiance recipe, when everyone else have got Boots and are moving in packs. There are a lot of more stupid decisions that players make. A pro would only make the right choices.
Your Application of Knowledge and mixing it with your instincts is the main part of being pro. You must know what you are capable and cross check it with your opponent. You must finish the calculations before you fight. You must have a great microing hand to turn your knowledge into instincts. You should be so knowledgeable about the mechanics that it will shown in your instincts. As a result you must be able to out-wit your opponents in every way. You must be able to read your opponents like an open book. You must train this ability. Also remember, that you must know to evade as much as you know how to cast.
There are literally hundreds or so minuscule things you must look for in a pro. To list all of them, I guess, is an impossibility. You need people who have seen, talked and played with the best to be actually able to judge pro players. A person willing to judge should be familiar with all the mechanics of the game and should be updated with information about the latest strategical trends and attributes of players around the world.
I am very familiar with the International DotA playing scene, as you know Nafi. I have even played with IHCS players and professional players of international teams. I have played with members of the Argentinian National team and with players of the Infamous Team, PMS. I have also played and was a part of the strategizing/picking process of a game with TeamQ. I have seen how they think and were in the same Ventrilo channel as them. I talked to them while playing the game. These all accounts to experience. I am close friends with chu and iMbaQ, with whom I have discussed pros and cons of thousands of strategies. I am not judging anyone else, but I think I qualify as someone who can judge how pro a player is, perfectly.

Hmm, great read....Thanks. Although I dont have Pyro's experience, I still have a feeling about how pro a player is. It really comes to knowing what you need to do when, and, to know if you can really do it or not.

Pyro I think u and the others have mistaken my thread !!! It says "HOW FAR IS THIS RIGHT ?".
The.Reaper fears nobody !!!
Nafi, this is not right. My previous post answers your question. Read it again. And playing any hero and dominating in pubs doesn't make you pro. Everyone should always remember this. Accounts of how pro you are can only be taken in Clan Wars and Tournament Games. Because that is when pressure dictates your game. You are only as good as you are under pressure. I believe everybody will agree.
